10.00 - Facial
4.45 - Spotted at this little corner, rattan-ish products made into small baskets, laundry bags, boxes, bags, etc. I loved it! If Mr Tay wasn't around, I would have gotten the laundry basket which came with a cover top. (it was RM75). These rattan-ish products are weaved so beautifully into with many many color combinations and in the end I got myself a RM20 holder.
5.10 - Mr Tay and I went on a slow drive checking out houses in Hartamas. Nice quiet neighbourhood. the apartment My thoughts on this newly opened eatery at The Curve: Located at the very same spot where Slippery Senoritas used to be. Opposite Sakae Sushi to be exact. the apartment is owned by the very same people who brought you TGIF, Laundry Bar, and Italiannies. Spotted Keith inside the bar, who first started at TGIF, then Laundry and now the apartment. Also spoke briefly to Nicol, the owner's son who mentioned that this new place has opened since Monday. I used to work with Keith and Nicol at TGIF, 1 Utama during my college years Mr Tay had Jamie's Pasta (some bolognaise sauce pasta tossed with duck and baked aubergines) - wasn't that good. Gary had some very simple pasta cooked olio style - wasn't that good either. Both Shanice and I had Baked Cod Fish - it was ok. Dessert - Mr Tay and I had Baked Moist Chocolate Pudding and this was the bomb!!! Try it! Gary and Shanice ordered some fruit flambe thingy cooked in brandy sauce, which wasn't that great. Overall I would say the food wasn't much to shout about. BUT having said that, I love love love the decos and concept of the restaurant. Simplicity at its best! As the name the apartment suggests, it was indeed done up looking very much like an apartment. Overall there's an outside "patio", the living room, bar area, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge, a reading nook and even an upstairs, complete with a wardrobe! And the menu. Gosh, I love it. Easily, one of the many creative menu presentations I've seen so far. Most restaurants use expensive paper as their menus, some even use glossy ones but at the apartment, they use .... kertas grid I noticed that each table has a herb plant. And each herb plant varies from one table to another. Our table had parsley which smelt so good. A bit like the Jamie Oliver's concept of obtaining fresh herbs within a hand's reach to add into your cooking. So imagine, if I thought my pasta could do with a little bit of parsley, I could just pluck some, fresh from my table top! Haha. Would I go back? Definitely. Not for the food but the ambience and I have yet to dine 'upstairs'. Apparently, this is a 2-storey apartment If I were to describe the apartment in one word: koOky 10.30 - Went to IKEA with Gary and Shanice. The married couple bought TWO Billy bookcases. Huge ass stuff which needed IKEA's transportation. Seriously, how can you turn Prison Break into Sci-Fi?! It's just not right! It's looking kinda like there's some weird experiments going on at Sona. So we're crossing 20 fingers and 20 toes that it won't be sci-fied! Very kan cheong... |
