it's her birthday this coming 26th (coincidently both of us, falls on a 26th - mine in may).
mr tay and i are bringing her, dad and my bro for a buffet lunch/dinner at shangri-la this sunday.
speaking of which, i need to get her a cake.
stumbled upon this wonderful wonderful site: pinkcakebox.com
so pretty!!! i love quirky-designed cakes. can't stand those perfectly made ones i.e. square, round, urghh.
I LOVE TOPSY TURVY CAKES
yes, they actually call them topsy turvy cakes. so cute!
corpse bride topsy turvy cake! i'm a fan of the corpse bride art! love love love tim burton's works

another one! though not topsy turvy

awww. cute

i know for a fact that someone will swoon at this *wink* butterfly on each individual cupcake

so cute!!!

ok la, enough. if you're interested, check the gallery out for more designs at pinkcakebox.com
and not like we can order and have it sent to us here right, so the closest good cake baker that i've been following (her blog) is this: The Journal of a Girl who Loves to Cook*click*
she's studying in australia now but when she's back in malaysia for hols, she bakes upon requests :)
Toadstool Fairy Princess Castle

Stack of Pink Presents
 she's good stuff
alternatively, there's this lady who bakes wonderful cakes from home at bandar utama. sue got her to bake a birthday cake for her cute 1 yr old niece, chloe recently.
let me know if you want her contact
not like i'm getting a topsy turvy cake for mom. she'd nag me to death for spending on bomb on a cake that is 'ku leng ching quai' for her.

babyboy - phuket crash - dkny
last night i dreamt that mom gave birth to a baby boy. and i was extremely happy to be taking care of him. was even telling myself in the dream that, 'hey, this is cool since i won't be having a kid of my own for now, this baby brother will do.'
HAHAHA. thanks Sandman.
an email was promptly sent to mom:
i dreamt that you gave birth to another baby boy. so i have 2 brothers now. haha.
regards, your daughter
mom, the dream interpretor, replies:
maybe you like babies or you wish to get married. how was the pancake that you made yesterday?
regards, mommy

budget One-Two-Go airlines, carrying 123 passengers, crashed in phuket yesterday, killing 88 passengers.
i am tv series LOST #1 fan. and have always fantasized crashing into an island, get stranded there with a bunch of people and just live there. you know like, building your own village from scratch - build huts, collect coconuts, go fishing, collect crabs by the seashore, dry your clothes on the clothesline hung from tree to tree, catch sunset and sunrise with mr tay (he will be crashing with me of course) and hey, no 9-5 jobs! $$$ is worthless if you're stranded in a primitive island - tip#1 from LOST
ANYWAYS, before i go jibbering more crap on my island-stranded fantasy, i just want to say, this piece of news shook me up. big time.
suddenly, it was no more fun crashing into an island. deaths, blood, cuts, abrasions, broken body parts, people crying, smoke, plane splitting into 2 - don't sound so fun anymore.
Sunday's plane crash was Thailand's deadliest since December 1998, when 101 people were killed in a Thai Airways crash at Surat Thani, 330 miles south of Bangkok. Forty-five people survived. - the boston globe
maybe it's wiser not to travel by Thai Airways, if you can, from now on.

i absolutely thoroughly enjoyed creating this piece! the sketches are pretty fast and easy and my most favorite part has got to be the coloring part.
i really wasn't a fan of drawing last time but when it comes to coloring... gosh, it's like injecting life into a piece of paper with lines.
i have loved coloring eversince i was a kid. boxes of watercolor, color pencils, crayons (my fav back then) would just finished on me within a week.
so yeah, creating - BFF - was a joy, with mr tay watching the telly beside me having to have to endure the gf's silly questions such as, "nice or not?" and "i think the girl on the left is plumper than the right, yes??"
oh screw it. luna is slimmer than me. happy?

girl: oi, go see my plant at the balcony. go say hi.
few seconds later, he shouted from the balcony.
boy: what is your plant doing here?!? girl: oh, i put it out there for it to do its daily 'fotosintesis' shit. (i only know the malay spelling). can't get sunlight inside the balcony. boy: it is not doing its 'fotosintesis', it is COMMITTING SUICIDE. girl: you think every live thing that i own goes committing suicides?
*pause*
girl: do YOU want to commit suicide? boy: *smiled mischeviously*... YUP! YEAH YEAH YEAH!
by far, the swiftest 'yup' i've heard from him. stupid.
anywayyyy...
'david the plant' trying to commit suicide

sure looks like it, doesn't it?
see the plastic bottle inside the balcony? my pee + water is in it
"hello! i'm doing my 'fotosintesis'!"

spotted across our place, another plant trying to commit suicide
