Year 2000, I remembered coming home from college and dad ushered me in and told me to keep the noise down because, "Papa is doing something really important. Don't disturb ah." There was another person sitting in our living hall, accompanied by her huge bag and with a pen and a notepad, she looked every bit of a journalist. The table arrangement in living hall has been altered. Suddenly there was our dining table being brought into the living hall and on top of the table there were tons of daddy's Beatles collection. My dad is like the BIGGEST HUGEST HUMONGEOUSEST fan of The Beatles. He has been a fan since his primary school days. Among his prized possessions are 2 thick cover notebooks filled with very very nicely handwritten lyrics of every song from The Beatles. In between these pages, he had also sketched some really nice drawings of Paul, John, Ringo and George. My dad also draws REALLY REALLY WELL. He also did some amazing individual portrait sketches of every member of The Beatles and those sketches were dated back in the 70s, so you could imagine how old and precious these work of art are. Among his collection, there were also rare unreleased tape recordings which he managed to get off a friend who is currently residing in the US. I've listened to them and honestly it wasn't really something you would want to pop into your player to listen and relax. It was more like live recordings of the whole process of album recordings with all the pauses and mistakes made in between. The band members joking around, laughing and frustrations of having to do retakes again and again - THAT is how rare those tapes are. Told dad, "If you could finally let go of these tapes one day, LET ME SELL THEM FOR YOU THRU EBAY." I couldn't access the full article as you need to pay and subscribe to access the archive. But ya, Ms Chow came back and interviewed him for The MalayMail. Then the following week, Ms Indra Santhiabalan (i remembered her name ok, but unsure of the spelling) from The Star also swung by our place and did an interviewed on dad. Berita Harian and Sin Chew Jit Poh (or was it Nanyang, i need to check with dad) also did their rounds. My dad diligently cut out every article and picture and have some of them framed up. So, if you ever come to my place, you'd see them being proudly displayed in The Room. The Room = dad's designated room to store all his Beatles collection plus movies in VCDs, DVDs, and even casettes, videotapes, and vinyl recordings! I'm so glad that my dad is a music-lover like I am and also an avid collector of DVDs and CDs. Made me realised my dad's cool, you know? Hehe. Heck, he even had a jamming studio for college students to jam which he charges them at a certain rate per hour. Studio's name - Studio Jam. Very creative, dad, haha. Anyways, over the weekend, dad and I plopped ourselves infront of the telly and watched this... Sir Paul McCartney performed in this concert, The Space Within US in 2005 with 2 other guitarists, a keyboardist and a very cheeky drummer. My dad has just bought this DVD recently so we sat down and watched. The audience were simply amazing! And dad looked as if, he wished he were in the concert. Haha.
Dad mentioned in his past interviews that he was starting a Beatles fan club in Malaysia. Which he did and at that time they were a small group of them getting together at Hard Rock Cafe, KL for gatherings and such. Hah... so cute. Dad is still recruiting, so if you know any die-hard fans of The Beatles, do let me know. Dad would love to expand his little fan club And oh, dad asked me this while watching the DVD,
So cute! Roll upppp... roll up for the Magical Mystery Tourrrr... * this is definitely NOT a sponsored post * :P

I was back in Puchong for the weekend. Told mom that I've been having dizzy spells during yoga sessions. Especially when I'm done with the Moon Salutation pose, the moment I get myself up from ground to standing posture, my vision blurred and I actually see stars! She promptly told me, "Low blood pressure. Just like me." What causes low blood pressure? The cause of low blood pressure isn't always clear. It may be associated with the following:
Postural hypotension can happen to anyone for a variety of reasons, such as dehydration, lack of food, prolonged standing in the heat, or being generally run down. It can also be influenced by genetic make-up, aging, medication, dietary and psychological factors, and acute triggers, such as infection and allergy. Source from: webmd.com Ok, my mom asked me to eat more salty stuff, more seafood and keep sugar mints in my bag. The way I see it, it's probably due to dehydration and 'being generally run down' Anyways, it is not that bad actually. I only see stars during my yoga lessons or when I get up really quickly when I sit on the floor. Will do my check-up once I stop procrastinating! p/s: I've hopped onto the PPP bandwagon if you haven't noticed! *This is NOT a sponsored post*

Friday
I have my lunches from Mon - Fri at One Utama. And sometimes even for dinners when I do stayback after my gym sessions at Celebrity Fitness, which fortunately is also at One Utama. Again, no, I DO NOT work for One Utama, but let's just say I work one block away from it. So, I've been here for 9 months now and trust me when I say I've successfully sampled all the restaurants, little eateries, cafes, stalls and whatnot in One U, I'm not kidding! Yes, even Horrible Arena as well. Blergh. So today, out of 114 food outlets, (figure includes non-dine in concept such as Sun Moulin bakery, Gelato Fruity, Fruitsfool, etc - anything that's food related goes into the 114 figure alright) I am going to highlight my top 10 favorite places to eat in One Utama. At the end of this post, it would be nice to let me know whether our lists are somewhat similar? MY TOP 10 FAVORITE RESTAURANTS @ 1 UTAMA IN RANDOM ORDER 1. Delicious Cafe by Ms. Read Food is great, ambience is just about right and service is always great there. Love their blue place mats (or rather paper) and has successfully managed to 'transfer' 5 copies into my possession... as of now. See image above. Worth trying: +:+:+:+:+ 2. Paddington House of Pancakes Food can take quite long to prepare, but no worries, tons of magazines are provided to pass time. Service is good here, very helpful and not to mention very PATIENT staff. I usually take extremely long to decide my choice of pancake. Worth trying: Location: Rainforest, Ground Floor (next to Good Evening Bangkok) +:+:+:+:+ 3. Oriental Cravings
This place is actually quite hidden. But if you know where DOME is in the New Wing, then it should be easy. Oriental Cravings is just next to New Wing's DOME. How fast you get your food really depends on the crowd count at the moment. More people = The longer you have to wait. But overall, a really good place for a great meal with your loved ones. Worth trying: Location: Rainforest, Ground Floor (next to New Wing's DOME) +:+:+:+:+ 4. myNEWScafe This place has been visited by us (colleagues and I) countless of times. When we simply cannot decide where to have lunch, myNEWScafe is our saviour. Service can be a little slow depending on crowd size. But overall, food is good. Worth trying: Location: Promenade, First Floor (same floor as Watson's) +:+:+:+:+ 5. Peranakan Place This is the second place we usually think of besides myNEWScafe. And good news, they are situated right opposite one another. So, if we see there's a huge crowd at myNEWScafe, we'd just hop over to Peranakan. Service can be a tad slow, depending on what you order. Sometimes they take forever to get you your bill, BUT food is great. My personal fav - Pandan Leaf Chicken. Worth trying: Location: Promenade, First Floor (same floor as Watson's) +:+:+:+:+ Stay tuned for my remaining 5 more favorite restaurants in One Utama. Trust me, narrowing it down to 10 was harder than I thought, as I initially had 17! Cheerios for now and Bon appetit!

Shopaholic is a neologism or slang term for a person who is a compulsive shopper. The term suggests that the person is addicted to shopping in the way that an alcoholic is addicted to alcoholic beverages. - excerpt taken from wikipedia- Are you a Compulsive Shopper? 1.
