4 More Months to Christmas *hint hint*

Dilemma: Earrings collection is growing out of hand! It's all over my room. Filled to the brim! Open the door and... and... a whole load of precious trinkets will pour out and engulf you!

Ok, I over-exaggerated. I was just being the drama queen that I am.

But, it is definitely too many now (and is STILL growing). I'm running out of holders to hold them! This one...

Got FAIRY design! How can I resist this!

Found this fairy holder on someone's site. Didn't state where she got it from. And is able to hold only 10 pairs. Erm, I have much MUCH more than 10 pairs, so, many different variations of the fairy holders would be good Tongue The weekend flea market at The Curve doesn't have Sad *pout*. Anyone who knows where to get this holder with such  design or similar, do let me know ya.

Looking again, I'd still prefer the Gold design, the one Jennifer Aniston wore in The Break Up. Gold design with silver color. Nice ~

Happy 10th!

Well, I haven't had the opportunity to watch the 'The Breakup' movie yet, but I've been hearing good reviews about it. Can't wait to watch these wacko couple in action. Apparently, it has brought in $38.1 million which is the 3rd biggest opening of a romantic comedy behind Hitch and 50 First Dates.

In addition to the buzz of Jennifer and Vince's relationship, there's been great highlights on her leaf necklace worn in the movie. Jennifer Meyer, fiance of Tobey Maguire and daughter of Ron Meyer of Universal, is the designer of the now famous necklace. Her 2006 collection is made from the finest materials and include rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, some are even accented with diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. To see the entire collection visit Jennifer Meyer Jewelry, Kaviar and King and Tracey Ross.

Monday
They Have Shrunk

Over the weekend, my mom took a look at me, pointed at them and commented:

"How come so small already?"

***

The next morning, I woke up to sweet-smelling soup boiling over the kitchen stove. I eagerly asked mom what soup was she boiling.

To which she replied flatly, "Papaya soup"

*smacks forehead*

Ingredients:

  • 300g chicken, washed and drained
  • 300g half ripe papaya, peeled, seeds removed and cut into cubes
  • 3 slices of ginger
  • 500ml water
  • salt to taste

Method:
Except for salt, combine all other ingredients in a double boiler or heatproof bowl. Double boil for 11/2 hours. Add salt and remove from heat.

Serve soup hot.

So, is there any truth behind the claim that drinking papaya soup will increase the size of female breasts? Does it work?

Because my mom certainly believes so. And she has given me the other half side of the papaya for me to boil on my own at home.

Names Names Names

Sometimes I wonder why on earth would parents put their kids in such miseries. Having to be teased all your life, especially during growing up years can be quite traumatizing. Perhaps, sometimes these parents aren't literate enough to know the meanings behind such staggering names?

Article from here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/5229060.stm

Malaysian authorities have published a list of undesirable titles to prevent parents giving their children names such as Hitler, smelly dog or 007.

Such choices are not allowed, but there is a right of appeal.

The list came as a response to the growing number of Malaysians who are applying to change their birth names.

Malaysia's National Registration Department made the decision after consulting with various religious bodies in the country.

They represented the country's Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and Taoist communities.

Traditionally, some groups have given newborns inauspicious names to ward off demons and evil spirits.

Further restrictions

Now names like the Hokkien Chinese Ah Chwar, meaning snake, and Khiow Khoo, meaning hunchback, are being ruled out.

So too are Cantonese monikers Chow Tow, meaning smelly head, and Sor Chai, meaning insane.

Members of Malaysia's Tamil community will be discouraged from using the likes of Karrupusamy (black god), and Malays from trying names like Woti, meaning sexual intercourse.

But the ban extends further.

Parents will not be able to call their babies after animals, insects, fruit, vegetables or colours.

Numbers are also not allowed, so little James Bonds cannot flaunt their 007 status on their ID cards.

Other restrictions stop parents giving children royal or honorary titles as names or calling their little ones after Japanese cars.

Pretty Pink Jacket

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I fell in love with this baby pink cardi-cum-jacket the moment I saw it. This pretty little piece goes well with jeans, short skirts and even capri pants. Good for indoor air-conditioned places where you would like to keep warm and still look stylish.

I love it. Don't think I will ever find the exact one in Malaysia. Perhaps I can get it tailored Wink

Something I Enjoy Doing Besides Everything Else

I was browsing through some of my design works for college when I first started picking up designing. These were done for my GraphicDesign101 class. Heh.

We were supposed to have a mock company of any industry. And we were assigned to design or create the company's identity through stationeries. The designs, fonts and color had to be consistent. All with 3 options.

So this is mine, a Graphic Design House named Gecko Graphx (as in Graphics). I used to like geckos back then, don't ask why. Heh!

The Simple Life

Sometimes, I just wanna be simple.

I think I'm not too complex. In fact I can confidently say that I am actually a very simple-minded girl. I'm easily amused (equally easily irritated as well), easily pleased, and easily bluffed to (in DT's words in mandarin, so "pen tan").

But I wanna be simpler.

Like, not to worry so much about $ and how to live my life more meaningfully. Really, these are questions I have been asking myself on a very constant basis these days. You only get to live once. Sometimes I wish you get to live like a couple of times. Just like a cat with nine lucky lives.

Say, if you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth:
- What will you be when you grow up? What kind of business would you be running?
- Who would you marry?
- How would you raise your kids with all the money that you have? Send them to government school or a private school? Lavish them with BabyGuess, X-Box and a Beemer? Or teach them values of integrity and modesty?

Ok, now say if you are born in a relatively poor family where you constantly need to worry about spending within your means:
- Just how strong or weak will you be?
- What will be your battles?
- Will you come out a loser, surrendering your fate to destiny or would you fight destiny, work hard (and smart) and come out a winner?

Wouldn't it be interesting then to be able to feel what it's like living out the other kinds of lives? For me it is. I'm curious as hell. To live only once is truly non-sufficient. But that only makes life much more interesting and precious to lose and waste.

So anyways, I really shouldn't stress myself so much with these issues. I just wanna think happy thoughts for now.

Sometimes The Eyes Deceive

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

What you see now is a circle of pink balls with one circulating around it.

Focus on the cross in the middle. Now look at the circulating ball, not pink anymore is it? It's green now.

Amazing how our brain works, ain't it? Means to also say, that we don't always see things the way we think we see. Things or even people are not what they appear to be.

Looks can be deceiving.
