Wednesday
Everyone goes through many different phases in life. These phases can be so amazingly colorful and exciting when taken a step back to analyze. I, for one, is secretly excited for some of these people. Tina is getting married end of this year. This woman did her research so well that no matter what suggestions I throw at her, she'd most indefinitely come back with a no-go response. Tina is currently in a dilemma in deciding the location of her wedding shots.
I give up! She researched well! Oh well, she has till this Saturday to decide. Poor woman, she sounded quite stressed. This whole marriage thing does seem like a lot of work huh! Joanne has found a new job and is mightily excited about it. She's starting in about 2 week's time. New job always does bring about the indescribable feeling of starting anew, doesn't it? New colleagues, new desk, new stationaries, NEW WARDROBE, new bags, new shoes, new hairstyle for some, new makeup style, new everything. Almost a newfound joy and a brand new Joanne in the making *hee hee* All the best babes! PF wants to fly away. Far far away, she says. I told her to get an airticket to Australia. She says she's been there. But girl, the whole idea is not whether you've been there or not, it's like buying yourself an escape route from this daily mundane life for awhile. I for one, heart solo trips. Does you wonders, makes you see a lot better and think a lot wiser. And great thing is you don't have to accommodate to everyone's whims and fancy, where to eat, where to go, i wait for you-you wait for me, etc. But she only wants to go Paris, 'nuff said, hah! Chu is embarking on some very interesting projects with One Utama. I could almost felt a tinge of pride in his lengthy explainations while having lunch with him yesterday. I always have this envious feeling for people who enjoy what they're doing in life. AND SINCE WE'RE AT THIS SUBJECT, I will gladly share one of my many ambitions in life - to be a si tau poh of a quaint, cosy and pink boutique. Heh! And knowing that I'll be going to Bali sometime soon, Chu had unabashedly requested that I bring back a nice Balinese vase for his new crib. Considered it done! David my boyfriend of 21 months is very into work these days. He eats, sleeps and breathes Maxis. Thanks to him, I've gotten to know so well about the various Maxisian (eww, Ibmers sounds cooler, no?) characters eventhough I have never met them in life. My boyfriend now works 24 hours. The boss has recently gotten him a Blueberry (it's a Blackberry dammit, but I call it Blueberry because it's cute.) and that thing annoys me. Every time we're comfortably lounging on the sofa watching some tv, IT beeps, signalling new emails coming in. With each beep, the Maxis Slave will automatically jumps up, grabs that wretched Blueberry and taps away. It annoys me. But not annoying enough to want to break up with him. Us. Into the 21st month and reaching closer to the impending 2-year mark, I can't profess enough how amazingly well-travelled this journey has been. He has taught me so much especially in handling various situations encountered with some very Anyways, many many months ago, I made a decision that this boy is good for me. That I should keep him by my side and have kept him close thus far. And despite having to compete with his new found obsession - that dreaded Blueberry - I am confident that he will be held even closer by my side for many many more months to come. You may express it well with actions while I much prefer words, but at the end of the day, we're both telling one another the very same thing - that I found you, and gawd, you're just about right.
Tuesday
... irks me. BIG TIME! Someone spoilt my mood for the entire day this morning. I honestly cannot believe I allowed someone to get me all worked up so easily the whole freakin' day. And dear god, over what? Over some petty issues, omg, someone shoot me already! Cheered up a little while having lunch with Chu Siang at Oriental Cravings, one of the better restaurants in One Utama. I had Claypot Loh Shue Fun with egg while Chu had Char Keoy Teow. Chu kept going on and on about me being lucky over the 1U scratch cards. He just wouldn't stop! The other day, he actually called me at 4+pm asking me whether I could walk down over to the counter and help him scratch his card. So funny that I actually burst out laughing in the office! I told him 'no' because it doesn't work that way. My flow of good luck just doesn't work that way mister! So anyways, after lunch, I rushed back to work because of Petty Man again. And all this emo-ing with Petty Man has given me a sorethroat. Not that we argued or anything, in fact I did not speak to him at all today. Just needed someone to blame for my sorethroat Can't wait for 5.30pm and I'm getting off work. Most importantly, can't wait for Petty Man to leave. *** Petty Man aside, daddy came to collect the Sony Bravia yesterday. I went over to the management office to have my 'winner' pic taken. Daddy looked like an excited little boy who has just been given a new toy. So cute He called me last night, updating me with details of the newly installed Bravia at home. He was esctatic, I could tell *chuckles*
Monday
Has anyone mentioned that only having to work till Wednesday and having Thursday & Friday off right up till Sunday is totally luxurious? I love it! Absolutely positively love it! I had this totally relaxing opportunity recently with the boyfriend and we had a quick getaway escape to JB - Singapore via the car. I loveee road trips! Can you not tell already that I love holidays?! Muahahaha. But I dozed off mostly. I can never stress enough on how blissful it is to sleep in a moving vehicle. The slight bumpity motion, the ongoing momentum that just drags you forward and of course, having a good company is an added bonus You see, we weren't headed to JB for fun. Mr Tay had to work on both Thurs and Fri so I seized this wonderful opportunity and tagged along and from JB, we hit over to Singapore. :Thursday: Morning started with me pulling a sulky face. Got a little scolding from Mr Tay for not packing the night earlier. Well, truth to be known, I love packing up for holidays and I usually take a long time to accomplish that. I like my luggage bags to be organized - bras & panties in one compartment, toiletries in the other, casual clothes on one side, dressy ones on the other, etc. And a must: a 1.5 litre of mineral water bottle. A lady should NEVER arrive at any destination dehydrated Arrived at JB at about 1+pm, checked into M-Suites Hotel. This is another hotel under the Mercure management. When I was in Singapore, I stayed at the Mercure-Roxy hotel and so I was pretty amused to see the deco at M-Suites were pretty similar to Roxy's. Random shots:
:Friday:
And oh, Mr Tay and I bought a Titus watch each. Pictures later. Ok, I am random. So sue me! girl and boy at Kim Gary's, JB.
:Saturday: Had dimsum for brunch at Da Dong Restaurant in Chinatown. Lovely! Just like the seafood night before, we were stuffed to the brim! Then, Darren dropped us off at Orchard Road for some shopping. At about 4.20pm, we got picked up and whisked off to this absolutely lovely cafe called, PS Cafe at Harding Road. I was having this tremendous craving for a chocolatey moist cake so according to Darren, this cafe is the place to be. PS Cafe is housed in a rebuilt glass, brick and steel building in one of Singapore's quietest but most central neighbourhoods. The greeneries surrounding the cafe was simply amazing. Worth mentioning also was the walkway towards the entrance of the cafe which was built on woodplanks. Lovely lovely place. Check it out here *click* We arrived at PS Cafe at about 4.30pm and by then the kitchen was closed. I was disappointed nonetheless but there is always some other time, ain't it? NYDC is another cafe worth mentioning. Its funky menu boasts of cute quirky food names and not to mention to-die-for desserts. Cute names: Macho Nacho Chips, Fowl Play, Tears in Heaven, The Meatball that Ate Manhattan, Grandma Goes Nuts, Jedi Mudster, Kahlua Mudpie and many many more! The Cookie Monster Mudpie was an immediate eyecatch for me. So we had that and Raspberry Shivers. Shivers are like a ball of flavoured ice (like sorbet) floating in your sodas. So instead of an ice-cream ball just like your A&W Rootbeer float, we have floating sorbets! Shivers sounds so much more cooler than Blended or Freeze I came, I ate, and I mudpied. For some NYDC mudpie pictures click here! :Saturday night: Dinner at Crystal Jade Restaurant at Vivo City St James Power Station All the clubs of different genres housed in one mega building!!! We entered Dragonfly first because Darren and Tim insisted that it is a must to watch William Scorpio perform. The name Dragonfly sounds cool for a standalone club itself, don't you think? Anyways, Dragonfly ain't your usual R&B or trance clubs as it caters more to the err... Canto-pop loving crowd. So they have like, bands playing and many singers one after another, and everything was just like a HongKong mini concert. Quite refreshing although I do not listen to Chinese songs much. William Scorpio is definitely worth mentioning. For a man in his 50s, he does look good! And oh, if you're there next, keep a lookout for the 5-girls band comprising a guitarist, drummer (hot hot girl!), keyboardist, bassist, and the vocalist. Good stuff. Then, we moved on to check out the rest of the other rooms. Basically the rooms are as shown above. The place was just packed and my favorite has to be the R&B room and House + Rave. So we stayed there till late. Went to mamak afterwards and the boys were discussing between the party scenes in Malaysia and Singapore. It is true that us Malaysian girls tend to be more open. By open, I don't mean sleeping around but more open to having fun, participating in house party games, and even dancing. Singapore girls generally do not like to dance? They prefer to stand around, hold onto the 1 glass of drink and pose around (this was quoted by Darren, not me ok! :Sunday: Woke up for brunch. Had initially wanted Teochew porridge but the place was packed to the brim, so we settled for Kolo Mee at Jia Xiang. Standard with Charsiew, Wanton, Prawns - $5.90 +:+:+:+:+:+:+ Went home, packed up and it was time to go. All in all, a good trip. And I hear we might have another road trip next month. Cameron was it? *hee hee*

Tuesday
The first person I called, was my dad. Dad: Wah!!! Serious ah!!! So lucky ah! Good good! *rambles on and on* I don't know what to say either. Except that, I bought 3 pairs of shoes which totaled up to RM104++ (50% discounted), and I had 2 scratch cards. 1st card: My results matched, and prize revealed - Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV I am still in a shock! The first challenge is to get 2 same images out of the 6 boxes and that is always the toughest. So when I got a match, I was really overjoyed, because hey, with a match, I'm bound to win something right? The prize is just waiting to be scratched and revealed. So, as I scratched slowly to reveal the prize, the first word that I saw was, "Bravia" and then I scratched on more to reveal the whole description. Needless to say, I was estatic! The girl at the counter was estatic! Everyone else around there were estatic! Insanely high I tell you. Calmed myself down, and proceeded to scratch the 2nd card. THE 2 BOXES THAT I CHOSE MATCHED AGAIN! I was still too engrossed over my Bravia win so did not place any high hopes on the 2nd card. Mystery Gift revealed later, were facial vouchers, pizza vouchers, etc. My Scratch Card Mania recap: I think I shall stop playing for now. Though the temptation is strong, one must always know when to stop right? For those who wants to learn more about this contest and see the prizes offered, please click here And NO, I DO NOT work for One Utama! She, The Aguilera-ised One, hates me *click* *tee hee hee*
Sunday
Friday
Today, I bought some sportswear from New Balance and some lingerie from La Senza. All in all I had 3 scratch cards. No matches for the first 2 cards. But I got lucky on my last card. They matched! And I won some jewellery from My Diamond I know! I can't believe it either.
Thursday
- Tasks at work that got me worried yesterday, was resolved today. - Haircut yesterday turned out alright - $alary (with bonu$) came in today. - Leave to go to Singapore (GSS round 2!) next week is approved. - Had crappy RM3.80 lunch. But that's ok, really, considering I spend an average of RM15 per day on lunch at One Utama 5 days a week. - Spent RM123 on Diva Accessories at One Utama. Check out the lovelies here! *click* Diva is actually by Miss Selfridge in case you haven't noticed. I will post up the pics of the stuff that I bought (which includes a gorgeous crown ring and a rainbow heart necklace pendant) when I can get my hands on the camera later. And the MAJOR Mini Happy of the day: Did you know with every RM100 spent on retail outlets in One Utama, you are entitled to a scratch card to win prizes. Limited to only 100 scratch cards per day. I didn't know or rather I wasn't too bothered about this promotion that was going on. I was happily browsing accessories at Diva la di da and by the time I was done, my bill came up to RM123. Was told by the cashier that I can redeem a scratch card at the Information Counter. Normally I would not be bothered about lucky draws, and I just didn't know what made me walked all the way there, AND diligently lined up just to get a scratch card to see what I've won or did not win. I was card-scratcher #46.
Guess what? My 2 boxes matched! And in my heart I was thinking it could probably be just any other prize. But nooooo... I won A TRIP FOR 2 TO CLUB MED, BALI 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS! I mean, what are the odds right?! Was just telling my boss about it. He said, it's all about timing. Imagine if I were to only go after work (which I had originally planned) or not go even! Thank you Diva for making it all happen. If the stuff there sucks, I wouldn't have spent like RM123 right? I wouldn't have even entered the shop right? So, thank you Diva! And thank you, to the she-man cashier who told me to go to the Information Counter!
8tv was playing an ad. boy: wahahaahaha, stoopidddd stoopidddd... Girl went to check on Transformers lyrics (can you believe it?! heehee), it's actually Robots in disguise and also More than meets the eye. But the 8tv girl really pronounced it as, robots in the sky! But nevermind, the point is to demonstrate to you how easily entertained our friend is. *** Boy & Girl in the car exiting The Curve after having dinner at Sakae. girl: *yak yak yak yak yak yak* *proceed to turn volume down* The kurang ajar boy went and turned the volume back up while muttering, that's the whole idea! *big grin*
