Thursday
One can do many things in 2 hours.

Get stuck on the road is not one of them.

So, there I was driving on the LDP when I received SMSes from friends informing of the recent price hike in petrol. And the next thing you know, every petrol station on my left and right was packed to the brim. It was rather an amusing sight to see kiasu people trying their very best to squeeze in to fill up their tanks. And just so suddenly, the usually impatient and rude Malaysian drivers on the road, have all became very patient and civilized - all lined up, waiting patiently for their turn, like good boys and girls.

Just baffles me silly, really. Like, how much can you save? With all the wait, your engines running, petrol are still being consumed. Not forgetting the HORRENDOUS traffic jam that you caused everyone! For example ---> Me.

I was on the way to Sunway Pyramid from Bandar Utama to meet up with Miss PF for dinner. Got out of the building at 6.15pm and reached Pyramid at 8.20pm. What the fcuk la really. FREAKIN' TWO BLOODY HOURS. The whole stretch of LDP was literally not moving, ok maybe, crawling. TWO HOURS! My bum was aching, my left foot very tensed and sore from pressing and releasing the clutch, and my sanity was on the brink of non-existence.

So as I reached Pyramid, parked my car at the new wing (love them green light red light concept) and met Miss PF up at Zen for some Japanese dinner. She ordered a Nabeyaki Udon, while I, as per usual, Tempura Soba. It's like I can never have enough of Tempura Soba, haha.

Miss PF got me a belated birthday pressie. Pic taken from her phone with me refusing to be shot for fear of appearing like a mangled doll after having fought a horrendous two-hour highway battle.

L'occitane Touche Parfumee in Cherry Blossom

I love the smell! Thanks, my fellow purple-loving friend.
You is very good at knowing my taste. Better than Mr Tay! Hehehe!

Oh, I also have some cutesy stuff Sue bought for me from Perth. Wait till I snap pics of them next!

Dinner lasted till 10.30pm and guess what, on the way back, the road on the other side was still jammed from Sunway all the way to Bandar Utama. AT 10.30 FREAKIN' PM! My bro was stuck at the toll in Puchong for 1 hour. It was like, after he has paid the toll fee, he was still stuck there... for 1 hour.

Anyways, I love today! Coz it's Friday tomorrow! I am hunting down a yellow baby-t with the word 'Friday' emblazoned at the front of the tee. Me and Sue found Monday, Tuesday (i might get this, since i'm born on a Tuesday - Tuesday's Child as Miss PF fondly calls it), Wednesday, Saturday, etc BUT no Friday.

Wait till I get my hands on a 'Friday' and I vow to wear it to work every Friday Smile It has to be in yellow, by the way. Yellow = chirpy happy-fying color :)

See, I wasn't exaggerating!

Tuesday
Why the Saturday nite mood on a Tuesday afternoon?
17th floor, Plaza IBM - 3.15pm

First, I have been craving for a White Sangria since morning. Still.dying.for.one.now.

At lunch, Chu Siang asked to come to Long Bar on Thursday for ladies' nite. Actually he texted me last nite and I was like, blahhh, maybe not. But now, since I'm in a loungeymusic+cocktaildrinks mood, I just might drag Sue along with me after work. Drinks are  extremely cheap at Long Bar.

After that, we were at Eclipse and it was playing loungey music again. Argh! Just wanna pack up and go Bodega or something for That White Sangria.

And now, I click on http://www.awfullychocolate.com/ not to order their cakes, but just to listen to their loungeymusic. I like the second tune.

Friday has better come quickly. Especially how I've lost my last weekend to a situation I'd liken to a World War 3 - it's like this weekend have better make up for it :)

P/S - You evil people can stop SMS-ing and emailing me about how stupid I was because really,  I get it. Stop rubbing it in already.

P/P/S - Chu Siang took pity in me and paid for lunch. But said the most freaky remark that ONLY men can think about. "Why didn't you take back the RM50 and said you will give her RM100 instead? That way, you would've gotten back your RM50." Why freaky? Coz David said the same exact thing last night.

P/P/P/S - I feel even stupider now.

Ok, first things first. I was featured as Blog of The Day in PPP! Thanks to the messages that I've received on my chat widget, else I wouldn't have known. Have not checked into PPP lately to grab opportunities as I've been quite busy. Not easy to grab them opps, either you have to wake up really early or stay up very late night. Either way, I can't do any of that for now. So yay! More traffic to my blog Tongue

Alright, moving along. Something not so pleasant happened to me last evening as I was making my way towards the gym in One Utama, after work.

I was approached by a tall Chinese well-dressed man who spoke in thick Mandarin, introduced himself and said he came from Beijing, China. He said he needed some cash for dinner to go through the evening as he will only get his money when his dad sends some over from Beijing tomorrow (means, today). I replied, in Mandarin of course, "Sorry, but I'm in a hurry." but somehow he still managed to hold me up. While persuading me, a woman (his gf? wife? i dunno) well-dressed too came pleading to me as well.

I was like, what the hell. She was carrying an LV Neverfull, well-dressed, well-groomed and no money to have dinner?! They kept insisting they will pay me back tomorrow (today) and even gave me his business card which is all in mandarin and I can't read mandarin for shit.

She pleaded and said, RM20 will be enough. They just need to have dinner to go through the night as the money will only arrive the next day. Ok, I swear I must have the weakest heart or I happened to be the Most Naive 27 yr old Ever Lived because I fished out a RM50 and gave them. I only had a RM50 and a RM9 in the wallet at the moment so I thought ok, pity them too, just needed dinner, so RM50 it is. She even took down my mobile number and gave me a miss call which was a 014 number.

AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT SHE SAID NEXT?

"Miss Low, sorry but we need a little more to cover our stay at the hotel."

Oh my god la. At that moment I knew I was being conned. So I asked her in a bewildered-cum-disgusted look upon my face. "Well, how much do you REALLY need then?!?"

"A little bit more. Maybe RM150 - 200."

I exclaimed, "Don't you have credit cards? ATM cards?" Mind you, they were nicely dressed ok, so don't give me the crap that they don't have the plastics.

"Oh, we entered the pin number 3 times and it got rejected and now it's blocked." And then they went on and on, pleading to me, trying to convince me to give them more.

Like seriously, what the fcuk la. I reached to a point where I got too lazy to entertain any more shit so I told them, "NO. RM50 is all I can help you with. I'm in a hurry. Sorry." And I took off.

I got so pissed. It was like, I knew there is no way I could get back my RM50 already since the money was in her hands and I couldn't exactly call security because I have no proof that they were conning me.

Got home and related the story to David. Out of curiosity, I checked out the website in his business card http://www.beijingyalu.com.cn and this is what greeted me:

Photobucket

SO YOU TELL ME, CONFIRMED CON JOB OR NOT?! I am so pissed!

BUT! David called the 014 number later that night, and the man actually picked up and asked, "Wei, na wei?" (mandarin: hello, who's this?) I signalled to David to just hang up and wait till today to see whether they would actually call.

I don't know. 90% of me confirmed it as a con job while 10% of me still hopes the woman who spoke so pleadingly and nicely to have a heart to at least give me a call later to return me back my RM50.

So, please watch out if you're shopping in One Utama and is approached by this China couple. The man is very tall, you can't miss him.

What ever happened to, One good turn deserves another???

I'm baffled beyond words.

Maybe it was The Orange Panty yesterday

... or the Yellow Top

... or the New Hair

... or all of the above?

Because according to color experts and also my mother, wearing bright colors (whether inside or outside) enhances your Qi and attracts good luck? Well I say, believe it only if you want to.

And rightly so, because I got it :)

A new role/position within the company, I start next week.

From these 2 ladies, on my Facebook wall, on my 27th:

"Happy happy happy birthday babes!! Welcome to the late 20s club, where life finally makes sense... and petty problems are a joke :) Have an awesome day *hugs*"
Joanne A. Low

"Happy Birthday!!! Sorry this is late because I was on vacay all of Memorial Weekend. Much loves, and yes, I think JLow has already wished you appropriately, welcome to the late 20s. It's only going to get better from here! Muakz!"
Gwendolynne Cross

Life is making some sense now and is definitely getting better from here. Thank you ladies, for making me believe :)

Wednesday
The Rather Peculiar Night
7:00pm Reached Opus, Bangsar
7:15 Placed orders.
Starter: Mixed Mushroom Surprise
Girl - Roasted cod fish in white wine sauce
Boy - Baked chicken (supposed to be duck breast but they ran out of duck) with caramelized balsamic sauce, with angel hair pasta and sun dried tomatoes.
A bottle of white wine.

7.40 Eat - take pics - eat.
8.05 Conversations somehow swayed towards the North Korean Prime Minister, Kim Jung-il, that he has a very hamsap face. The bf whipped out his N73 and googled it out to prove his point. Yes, he does look hamsap.
8.20 The boy attempted to lure the birthday girl for a karaoke session after dinner.
8.25 NO, says the girl.
8.27 Hmm, if you really want to get me to sing later, you'd better hope the wine does its magic.
8.28 OK DRINK UP!!! *continued pouring wine*
8.40 Why am I feeling so sleepy? Are you feeling sleepy, babe?
8.50 Any desserts? the Waiter asked. No, thank you and can we have the bill please?
9.05 Got home. Extremely sleepy! Removed make-up, contacts, put on oversized black tee which says "Fuck Milk Got Pot?" (courtesy of Jason C, NY) and collapsed onto bed. Did not shower.
9.08 Last image seen before sleep: the bf collapsed onto bed with his working attire still on and the room lights all still switched on.
2.30am Eyes shot up and found bf not in bed anymore. Found him tinkering away on the computer keyboard in the study room. Apparently, he was up since 12.30am.
3.00 The girl went online and replied somemore facebook birthday wishes.
3.30 Boy and girl had kokokrunch+milk.
4.00 Got into bed. Girl read P.S. I Love You, Boy read (some John Grisham book).
5.00 Lights off and slept.
7.30 Wretched alarm rang.

Like, seriously?! The white wine felt as though there were 1000 crushed sleeping pills in it. We have never encountered such extreme sleepiness before and to be sleeping by 9pm is totally absurd! That was one helluva white wine and in a way I hated it. I loved the taste and all but not the after effects. It really felt as though I've taken tons of sleeping pills and never had I felt so powerless in trying to keep the eyelids opened.

All in all, I had a really good time at dinner with David. The dinner, ambience, music (they put on Janice from Hong Kong who did cover versions of famous songs) and company were fabulous. My Opus roasted cod fish totally rocked and it put TSB's cod fish to extreme shame.

Another dinner either tonight or tomorrow, to celebrate 2 birthdays. Mine (albeit, expired) and Laena's.

Monday
27
It's my birthday today! I love birthdays, especially if it's my own birthday Smile This year's new number has automatically moved me into a new age range - late 20s. I was groaning to Sue the other day, "Hey, I'm gonna be in the late 20s now!" and she did the biggest rolled eye action and exclaimed, "OHHH, SHUT UP!" Hehehehee...

This just came in minutes ago on MSN with Grace. Notice the 'yorrr' tease? It's like saying, 'aiyohhh, you so old already.'

~graceux5~ says:

thank you very much for reminding me how ancient i am!

Anyways, on Saturday morning, we went for a dimsum brunch in PJ with my mom and dad. My mom gave me an angpau ok, hehehe! Then, David and I head on to KLCC to check out the sales there. Isetan was and still is having its sale but I secured the whole Isetan parameter that day and there was nothing much that I really liked or wanted.

Upon arrival, the Clueless Bf Who Doesn't Know What To Get The Gf, told me to grab 3 things that I fancy in Isetan and that will be my birthday present from him. I was like, in Isetan??? Fine, so I told him to buzz off so that I can have my Alone Moment to concentrate Tongue He went to Kinokuniya while I was left on Shopping Mode. It was more like a Browsing Mode for me coz there really wasn't much that I like there! Checked out Eclipse and found nothing new. (coz I am always checking out the stuff at the One Utama's branch!)

Then, I found my First Item which was a Black Bag.

Second Item, ok, I want to talk more about my second item. Initially, I wanted to check out Escada's Moonsparkle since I heard so much hype about it. Took a sample and ohmygod, it was extremely intoxicatingly sweet. Just like candy! Now, I don't quite fancy really sweet perfume, so nah, I passed it up and checked out my most favorite perfume bottle design, Vera Wang's Princess.
Photobucket
So pretty right! I love the purple-colored liquid inside, love the shape of the bottle and love most the crown cover at the top!

But alas, it was really sweet too. Just like candy again. I was crestfallen for awhile until i spotted the pink bottle of Princess. A limited edition called Vera Wang Princess Flower, took a whiff and I was sold! At that time, the bf was already called over for assistance. He loved it too! So, we took this plus the Sales Assistant was really nice. Usually you'll get a miniature of the perfume you're purchasing, but I not only got a miniature Princess Flower, (the exact bottle but in a mini 50 cent size form, so cute! good for travelling purposes) she threw in a Ferragamo Shine mini, a Vera Wang Princess (candy) mini, and a Vera Wang For Men mini in the goodie bag too. Ahhh... I am a satisfied customer.
Photobucket
Princess Flower. Albeit not as pretty as the original bottle, I love it still. In fact, I'm already wearing it today, on my birthday and I can't stop sniffing myself Tongue

As for the Third Item, I couldn't possibly find another item that I really liked in Isetan. Well, actually I spotted this bracelet from Folli Follie which was gorgeous but it came with a hefty price tag too so nah, I skipped it. I care for Mr Tay's wallet too you know Tongue

So, as for the Third Item, I have a list of books that I wanted to get so this was the right moment to execute the list! Spent quite a bit of time with David in Kinokuniya and finally settled on 3 books. I can't wait to start on The Time Traveler's Wife! I'm almost done with P.S. I Love You, lovely lovely book.

Anyways, Jo-anne C. texted me this morning asking whether The Boy had delivered well for my birthday. I replied, "It was actually ok, but bleurghhh!" Bleurghhh because I really wanted a surprise gift? But then again, I got 3 items that I actually wanted and liked so hey, I shouldn't be complaining right??? It was kind of a good arrangement - he doesn't crack his head and I get what I want. BUT, having said that, I hope he cracks his head further for next year! Tongue

Anyway, out for lunch yesterday:

A bright yellow tiered chiffon top which I would not be caught dead wearing maybe 1 year ago, with black skinny jeans.

The happy yellow people!

And then later in the evening, Weng+Anna came over for a swim and showered. 5 of us plus David's bro then went to Hartamas for dinner with Alex and Laena. Adjourned later to Alex's place to pay Ozzy a visit! Ozzy has grown soooooo much. Pics to be uploaded soon!

And tonight, ahhh... tonight I have a dinner date with the boyfriend *happy*

Thank you for the kind SMSes, MSN messages, starring me on your MSN status boxes and Facebook messages!

*3*

Champagne gold dress, Eclipse
Worn this for David's 30th birthday

I was quite upset that I saw this in Eclipse, KLCC in PURPLE!

I bought this dress in Eclipse, One Utama and they didn't have purple at that time, so I didn't know there was a purple!

Very upsetting coz I'd choose purple over champagne gold anytime!

Anyways, when I wore it to his party, David said it looked loose and suggested that I alter it to make it tighter.

Photobucket

Well, I am just too lazy so I tried it on with a belt.
Instant fix, yay!

Indiana Jones 4 ---> flop

It's Friday night and for dinner, we had Korean BBQ at SS2 with Andy+Sue and then head on to One U to try our luck in getting tickets for Indy Jones 4 at 10.15pm. Managed to get good seats, row C :)

Words to describe the show:

- doesn't jive with the original indy jones traditional theme
- screwed up storyline
- crystal skull looks cheap, maybe plastic, says the boy
- disappointing

Very disappointing for me as I was very much looking forward to catch this. The first 3 instalments were still the bomb.

OH OH, DID YOU STAY BACK TOWARDS THE END FOR IRONMAN? The part where the credits were rolling up? I bet most of you didn't, hehe. For those who have not catch Ironman, just stay on for a little surprise Smile
