iCrave

For some reason, I have been craving a Full English / Irish breakfast since last night.

Fat juicy sausages
Baked beans
Poached eggs or sunny side up
Crispy fattening bacon
Lots and lots of grilled button mushrooms!
Grilled tomatoes
Black pudding

Photobucket
round black thing = black pudding

I have not tasted black pudding before and I thought it sounded interesting. So I googled it up and this is what Black Pudding is.

Black pudding or less often blood pudding is a British English term for sausage  made by cooking blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled. It is also called blood sausage.

These are the ingredients needed to make Black Pudding:

1lt Blood (Pig, Lamb or Goose)
340g (12oz) Shredded Suet
300ml Milk
50g (2oz) Oatmeal
3 Medium Onions, chopped
1 tbsp Salt
1/2 tsp Mixed Herbs
1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Pinch Nutmeg

Pig's blood. I like!

So where in KL can I find an extremely large English Breakfast inclusive of Black Pudding? Jarrods Rawlins came to mind but I don't remember being served Black Pudding in my breakfast set the last time. So, suggestions?

Gila happy

I don't sing karaokes. I just don't sing. Period.

Eversince I made that declaration outloud, the bf has been trying to get me to sing for as long as I can remember. Below are some of the lines which I remember him using:

"We book the whole room at Redbox just to ourselves so you can practice? Want?"

"Ok, I buy a karaoke set so we can sing at home?"

"What songs do you want? I go find the instrumental version."

"Just sing. JUST LET IT OUT!"

So last night, he so suddenly decide that I should sing Wishin' and Hopin' - Ani DiFranco's version (yes the one in My Best Friend's Wedding) but I don't want to.

"I want *cough*FromThisMoment*cough*. I said it very quickly and you should see how his eyes gleefully shot right up. "YOU WANT WHAT SONG AGAIN?! *huge grin*"

"From This Moment la dammit! Fine, I'll sing." So we both found a website which has full versions of instrumental songs PLUS lyrics, which means die, I just can't escape already.

1st song: From This Moment by Shania Twain
Struggled like mad at this part: My dreams came true because of you (those who know this song, will know how high the notes are here)

2nd song: Apologize by One Republic
HAHAHA! Like wtf right? But I so ace this song man! Even the bf who is a champion singer (he seriously is. have you seen him in karaoke?!) can't pull this song! Wahahhaha! Trashed him. You tell me that you need me then you go and cut me downnnnnn

3rd song: No One by Alicia Keys
Woohoooo, have to backside itchy la! Know that this a killer song and YET I gatal went ahead and suggested this. But it was damn fun! I was hitting the high notes like so cacat but it was fun! You and me together, through the days and nights. I don't worry cause everything's gonna be alright.

We stopped singing like baboons when the door unlocked and Mr Tay's brother came home.

I still shy mar Tongue

Bliss is when you have found the perfect pair of black almost-jeans

So, yesterday I bought a very nice pair of almost-jeans in black from Dorothy Perkins. Originally tagged at RM163 and it was on 50% off! As I searched thru the rack, I was praying hard "pls pls pls... let there be my size" coz usually during sales period, only the bigger sizes are left on the racks, like size 12, 14, 16, etc.

To make searching easier, hangers in DP are tagged with size numbers and I was crestfallen when there wasn't my size spotted on the hangers. But, I damn 'mm kam yuen' so what did I do? I diligently checked one by one, the size tag on each of the pants hanging on the rack and true enough, I found ONE PAIR of my size! So happy can die!!!!!!!!! I then had a "heaven in the skies opening up with light beaming down on me" moment. The moral of the story is: there is always some sales assistant who will screw up while sorting out apparels according to sizes on the hangers.

I like pants from Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Naf Naf and Zara. I think they have the nicest cuts coz since I'm quite tall, I usually don't score well with the local brands as those pants are catered for shorter women I guess. Best of all, I need not alter the length of my pants like how some of my gfs always have to. I have a pair of white almost-jeans from Naf Naf which I love till today and has lasted me almost a good 4 years. Good money invested Tongue

I am wearing the black almost-jeans today and I have gone to the ladies for about 5 times already... just to swoon over the nice cutting and also to check on the butt which when in these pants, has magically transformed from the size of a hippo to the size of a bowl! Ok, maybe 2 bowls. Hehehe!

Cheers to nicely cut pants!

Monday

Slightly crushed

It's funny how The Most Anticipated Call, that you have been waiting all your working life, can just destroy all your hopes and dreams within seconds.

Caller: Some headhunter.
Position: I'm not too keen.
Company: BAT - for the benefit of my mom, it stands for British American Tobacco. Means I'm supposed to encourage smoking, ma.
Persuasive point: "This is a global position! You deal with the global countries like the Latin American countries!"
My point (which of course I only said in my head): But I deal with people from overseas daily too. Is that such a great thing?

It boils down to my own principles. I can't accept a job that I personally do not advocate. Something that I've been trying to get the bf to cut off which in turn, was asked/challenged to entirely clear my CC debts in exchange to go 100% tobacco free. What a pig.

So, now it's back to more searching and waiting for the next Most Anticipated Call.

How 4 days can do wonders to your soul, mind and sanity

Thurs - Sun of pure bliss, relaxation, crazy people, shopping and good food, I wish everyday was like this!

Thurday
On Wed night, David had to attend 2 events - 1 in Rum Jungle (yuck!) and 1 in Velvet. He bought bottles there and there are still leftovers! Maybe we can organize another thingy at Velvet soon to finish them up. Hmmm.

We woke up quite early on Thurs and went over to Plaza Damas to have lunch at Izakaya Ichiban, a Japanese restaurant run by this Jap bald man. It was probably our 3rd time there and I love that it's small and cosy plus food's fantastic too. As usual, I dunno why I always seem to order my Soba Tempura bowl. Must order something else the next time! For the temaki, I had my all-time fav, Soft Shell Crab temaki and he had the Salmon temaki. We didn't stop there, ordered a plate of gyoza and chawan mushi too. Such gluttons, we are!

After lunch, still at Plaza Damas, I dragged the boy to the Shopaholics Unite's sale at the Lunch Actually office. Yes, PF, the same place where I sent over the purple butterfly belt over to you :) Bought a Vintage Brooch for RM19 and somemore full length thick black stokings. Leng, the owner is a very very pretty girl. Trust me, when I say someone's pretty, she's pretty. I think she's a very capable girl. She is 1 year younger than me and yet she has her own company - Lunch Actually and now, Shopaholics Unite. How often do you come across a pretty girl who actually have brains?!

I thought of trying my luck at the possibility of The Curve flea market opening on Labour Day but sadly no, the only stalls that were opened then, were set infront of Cineleisure. So we checked them out and took a nice stroll inside Cineleisure as well.

Dinner was at my parents' that night. My mom cooked the biggest, bestest and meanest Steamed Ikan Bawal! And it was to be shared between the bf and I only Tongue Being a fish-lover, the bf finished the whole 70% of it! Then, we stayed back to catch the American Idol result show and Brooke was finally out. About time now, I'd say!

Friday
Went over to Bangsar with the intention of checking out the FJ Benjamin sale at BV2. Bad bad decision. We were stuck at Bangsar for like 1 hour. Cars were not allowed in as the parking lots were full and to make matter worse... the Muslim's weekly prayer session was going on. How is it ok for them to double-park and not get into trouble as if it was a church and all the church members were to double-park along the road, the cars will either be given a love note or towed away. Talk about double standards.

We u-turned and fled away from the horrendous traffic and landed ourselves at Mont Kiara. Ate at a Korean restaurant and I had yummy ginseng chicken pot and the bf had some BBQ chicken thingy. I ate the whole bowl of rice because Korean rice is so nice!!! Short, fat and has this lovely texture that I can't quite describe. Lovely meal. Still at Mont Kiara, we then went grocery shopping at the newly opened Solaris Cold Storage. All items sorted by country of origin! You have the UK section, German, Japan, Korea, etc. Amazing place.

Dinner was Bak Kut Teh (i like!) with Gary and Aiwen at our usual Mungo Jerry's in KL. Not the SS2 one ok, must only go to the one in KL because it is so much better there. We ordered so much that night that the 4 of us were having a tough time finishing them up! After dinner, we adjourned to Chili's, BSC. Had Tropical Margarita for meself, Presidente Margarita for Aiwen and the boys each have a Classic Margarita.

Saturday
We ordered some pizza delivery and stayed home to watch some movies, which I can't remember right now. Then, it was David's 30th birthday dinner party at TSB, Bangsar! My boy is all grown up now! Tongue Hahahhaa. We had a wonderful dinner there, both me and Aiwen had the same dish - Black Cod. Grace and Adrian popped by for a short while before heading to Bubba Gums at 8.30pm. So sweet, she even brought the black&white dress she bought for me from Bangkok! Thank you, girl.

Weng bought the birthday boy the Spanking Board which consisted of - Wasabi, Banana, Cili Padi, Butterscotch and Bloody Mary shots. The whole mixture was so bad on his tummy, he had to immediately go to the loo to puke it out but nothing came out. Every party should have a hustler and at our party, we had Raymond. He was doing his duty so well, it was seriously funny watching him coercing David to drink but my boy's a good bargainer and drinker. He managed to maintain soberness throughout the night, and could even drive us both back home safely Tongue Many people came at many different times. Winnie and gang came later and bought us a Flaming each. Like, hello, it was not even my birthday but hey, can't complain coz my Flaming was actually really really good Tongue Played some drinking games as well and damn, I only took a few photo shots! Will upload to blog if I remember, else, they will be in Facebook.

Sunday
No hangover for the boy. I made lunch and we sat down to eat while watching Cleaner starring Morgan Freeman and Eva Mendes. He didn't want to go out for the whole of Sunday, while as usual I was itching my ass off to go kai kai! CK called to confirm the initial Ironman movie plan and brunch but we had to turn it down because David wasn't feeling up to it. Cleaned up the house a bit and by dinnertime, I managed to get him to go out. Called Gary + Aiwen for steamboat plans but Gary asked to go to Purple Cane at The Gardens.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Purple Cane! Not the one in One Utama as it only sells teas there. The one at The Gardens serves wonderful dishes cooked in various types of chinese teas. The next time you are there you HAVE TO ORDER these:

  1. Stir Fried Abalone Mushroom with Dry Chillies. It was so good, and I was fooled into thinking it was chicken!
  2. Crispy Duck - which you will have to wrap them in a thin omelette wrap, put some spring onion shoots and a dash of the magic sauce and wrap them all up with fresh lettuce and enjoy. THIS IS A MUST ORDER DISH.
  3. 'Jiu pai tau fu' - HEAVEN. I couldn't get enough of this!

Soups were served in pots and each of us have a tea cup and the idea was to drink the soup in a single shot. We ordered the Ginseng Chicken soup and Lotus Root soup. Nice. Also on the table were, Fish Slice with Mashed Ginger, a pot of stuff which I can't remember the name, Eggs + Tomatoes + Prawns and some dessert later.

This place is highly recommended for those running out of ideas on where to have dinner/lunch. I just wish Purple Cane does the similar concept at One Utama. I am dragging David to Purple Cane again sometime this week! Or better still, I'll bring my family there for the weekend for Mother's Day Big Smile I just hope my mother doesn't grumble that it is too expensive, which she tends to sometimes. The gang then went to Coffee Bean for drinks but I don't sit down for coffee. I go shopping. The idea was to get 2 bags - 1 for my mom and 1 for David's mom. He will be going back to his hometown this weekend so I have to get the bag by this week! But I got nothing, so after that, we went home.

Last night was a chaotic night. After discussions of going to Bangkok in October '08 during the Hari Raya period, SMSes came one after another bearing full names and I.C. numbers. I opened up Notepad to jot down their Cina full names and numbers and saved it up as bangkokkkkkkkkkkkk.txt. Hahhahaha! Initially we only had 3 couples but it went on with EVERYONE confirming their 'participation' and we had in total of 7 couples. Saw Chew Soon online and told him about it and I swear, everyone was just in a holiday mood last night coz, HE ASKED WHETHER HE AND ANGELINE COULD COME ALONG TOO! Making it a grand total of 8 couples! We have to rent 2 vans, said David. I love group holidays! Can't wait.

Then, it was back to work again. La-di-da.

Wednesday

:)

Grace is in Bangkok now and she sure knows how to tempt me!

Which one do you want, she asked.

Photobucket
RM20 only she exclaimed!

Black&white please!!! I am going through this black&white phase, I really don't know when I'll stop Tongue

Me likey the above black&white dress! Can be worn both casual and to work as well. To work: I might just throw in a grey/black jacket or cardigan or a short-cropped jacket which I have been dying to use, pearl necklace and my kill-my-feet pumps again. Can probably replace the sash with a belt too?

She also bought a Tiffany-colored strapless sundress which comes with a white/cream sash which is so beautiful! Mr Tay, I WANT TO GO TO BANGKOK!!!! *wails*

Meanwhile, I am going crazy over whether I should get this or not. I found a way to purchase stuff from the United States online and have them shipped to Malaysia :)

Tuesday

Thursday! Friday! Saturday! Sunday! = Holiday :)

All black today.

Black sleeveless dress
Black stokings
Black pumps
Black earrings
Black pendant
Polka dot black&white hairband
Black bag
Black panty Tongue

David's birthday is fast approaching. We are not doing a party afterall, doing something else instead Wink Have not gotten him a birthday pressie yet. No idea even. So was chatting with Sue on birthday ideas. She said she wants Curtis Stone to be her bf. I said, I want Curtis Stone to be my bf, and Jamie Oliver as my hubby. She asked why. Well, simple. I love how Jamie always cook for his wife, Julia and daughters, Poppy Honey and Daisy Boo (the fella sure knows how to name his kids, hahaha!)

So, I said, I wish David could cook for me too. Sue exclaimed, "But he made Lychee Jellies what!"

What the!!! Lychee Jellies is not what cooking would mean ok. I want full course - Soup, Steak, Mash Potatoes, Steamed Veg, Dessert. Is that too much to ask? Tongue But no, the boy can't cook to save his own life - except maybe, Mee Maggi Kari Meletup. So she suggested that I get him a Jamie Oliver cookbook as a birthday present. She is so brilliant sometimes I dunno what to say. I was being sarcastic, can you not tell? Hahahaha.

So, last weekend, David and I joined Gary+Shanice+Fetus for a movie at Berjaya Times Square. Watched Street Kings starring Keanu Reeves and we think it was crappy la. If it was done by Hong Kong, it would probably be better. Think, Infernal Affairs. Did some shopping there - bought some really cheap belts at RM10 each. Saw a vest which I bought at MyDressRoom, Bangsar retailling at RM25. I paid RM69.90 for the same exact vest in MyDressRoom ok. Very pissed. And bought a whole lot of other stuff la. Went Starbucks for cakes and drinks. Nice. Then, we adjourned to Gary's place for dinner and to catch the horrendous Chelsea vs MU match. Penalty????

On Sunday, we went to The Curve for lunch. Ate at Absolut Thai and had my absolute favorite - Water Chesnut in Coconut Milk also known as Red Rubies for dessert. Each time I eat at a Thai restaurant, I'd order this. Yum! Looking up on the recipe to learn how to make this. Then, I can have this every single day. Muahhahaha! We then, went to check out stuff at the Flea Market. Bought some hairbands! Including the polka dot one. So cute!

Have you heard the e-filing ad in the radio? It goes like this...

Photobucket

Damn layan Alicia Key's No One now. Maybe I'll put that as my ringtone next. Currently using: Nicole Scherzinger's Baby Love. We so in love, la la la laaaa...

I love my purple+silver eyeshadow today.

My new black pumps are killing my feet.

Thursday

Random!

In conjunction to Earth Day 2 days ago, I finally wore my modified Amazon Jungle dress. Wore it with white belt, white thin hairband, pearl necklace, light black stokings and white pumps. Boy, do I look like a Forest Fairy, guarding the Amazon Jungle. Hahhahaha!

Photobucket

Anyways, Sue and I drove out to Damansara Kim for lunch. I can't express how relieved I was eating something different (and nice!) and definitely cheaper for lunch after so so long. Initially, I told Sue that I was having cravings for a Claypot Yee Mee, which coincidently is my all-time favorite.

Instead, I ended up ordering:

Hakka Mee (dry version) - RM3.80
Soya Cincau - RM1.80

Total = RM 5.60

RM5.60 for a meal!! I felt compelled to express my shockness and ignorance at how I was donating so much money to the restaurants at One Utama, so I told Sue, "My meal, RM5.60. I can have at least 3 meals of this for a single meal at One Utama." And then, my mind automatically worked its math and let's just say by the end of it, it ain't a pleasant feeling. I could have been a millionaire by just not splurging on lunches at One Utama. Ok, 'millionaire' is being a tad dramatic. But you know what I mean! And and and... it's not like the food at One U is great! After awhile, you just get bored! Each time David comes to pick me up from work, and when he suggests One Utama for dinner, I'll let out a HUMONGOUS groan. I can't for the life of me, stomach both lunch and dinner from One Utama on one single day. It is really that depressing!

So, we made some alterations to our lunch plans. We plan to drive out once a week to have cheap and good food outside, around areas probably like Damansara Kim or Uptown. So, it's just Shopping Mall Food for 4 days in a week. Yippee!

Ok, I can't wait for the weekend to come. Bf and I plan to go on a movie with Gary+Shanice+Fetus. Yes, she's pregnant! Can't wait to see her bump Big Smile And then, we're paying Ozzy The Puppy a visit! I missed her so much and according to Alex, she has been growing longer and longer by the day. Sigh, Ozzy please don't grow up so fast. I like you tiny and small!

Last night, the bf and I had a long chat. It was 10pm and he was lying on the bed. I was scurrying around, applying body lotion, moisturizer, hair protein, etc and we were just chatting away. We usually don't sleep that early but he was feeling tired (after having to do 3 PC fairs over the weekends!) so ok, I decided to sleep early for once too. But, we just chatted and chatted away and before you know it, it was already 12.05am. By then, we decided to turn in and this was what he said at the end of the 2 hours chat.

"I can't believe I wasted 2 hours talking to you. I could've slept an extra 2 hours!"

So naughty! After much whacking from me, we both went to sleep. That's David Tay for you, the ever-romantic boy who says the most wonderful things to end a beautifully spent evening together. Smile
