Monday
It's funny how The Most Anticipated Call, that you have been waiting all your working life, can just destroy all your hopes and dreams within seconds.
Caller: Some headhunter. Position: I'm not too keen. Company: BAT - for the benefit of my mom, it stands for British American Tobacco. Means I'm supposed to encourage smoking, ma. Persuasive point: "This is a global position! You deal with the global countries like the Latin American countries!" My point (which of course I only said in my head): But I deal with people from overseas daily too. Is that such a great thing? It boils down to my own principles. I can't accept a job that I personally do not advocate. Something that I've been trying to get the bf to cut off which in turn, was asked/challenged to entirely clear my CC debts in exchange to go 100% tobacco free. What a pig. So, now it's back to more searching and waiting for the next Most Anticipated Call.
Thurs - Sun of pure bliss, relaxation, crazy people, shopping and good food, I wish everyday was like this!
Thurday On Wed night, David had to attend 2 events - 1 in Rum Jungle (yuck!) and 1 in Velvet. He bought bottles there and there are still leftovers! Maybe we can organize another thingy at Velvet soon to finish them up. Hmmm. We woke up quite early on Thurs and went over to Plaza Damas to have lunch at Izakaya Ichiban, a Japanese restaurant run by this Jap bald man. It was probably our 3rd time there and I love that it's small and cosy plus food's fantastic too. As usual, I dunno why I always seem to order my Soba Tempura bowl. Must order something else the next time! For the temaki, I had my all-time fav, Soft Shell Crab temaki and he had the Salmon temaki. We didn't stop there, ordered a plate of gyoza and chawan mushi too. Such gluttons, we are! After lunch, still at Plaza Damas, I dragged the boy to the Shopaholics Unite's sale at the Lunch Actually office. Yes, PF, the same place where I sent over the purple butterfly belt over to you :) Bought a Vintage Brooch for RM19 and somemore full length thick black stokings. Leng, the owner is a very very pretty girl. Trust me, when I say someone's pretty, she's pretty. I think she's a very capable girl. She is 1 year younger than me and yet she has her own company - Lunch Actually and now, Shopaholics Unite. How often do you come across a pretty girl who actually have brains?! ![]() vintage pearl brooch I thought of trying my luck at the possibility of The Curve flea market opening on Labour Day but sadly no, the only stalls that were opened then, were set infront of Cineleisure. So we checked them out and took a nice stroll inside Cineleisure as well. Dinner was at my parents' that night. My mom cooked the biggest, bestest and meanest Steamed Ikan Bawal! And it was to be shared between the bf and I only Friday We u-turned and fled away from the horrendous traffic and landed ourselves at Mont Kiara. Ate at a Korean restaurant and I had yummy ginseng chicken pot and the bf had some BBQ chicken thingy. I ate the whole bowl of rice because Korean rice is so nice!!! Short, fat and has this lovely texture that I can't quite describe. Lovely meal. Still at Mont Kiara, we then went grocery shopping at the newly opened Solaris Cold Storage. All items sorted by country of origin! You have the UK section, German, Japan, Korea, etc. Amazing place. Dinner was Bak Kut Teh (i like!) with Gary and Aiwen at our usual Mungo Jerry's in KL. Not the SS2 one ok, must only go to the one in KL because it is so much better there. We ordered so much that night that the 4 of us were having a tough time finishing them up! After dinner, we adjourned to Chili's, BSC. Had Tropical Margarita for meself, Presidente Margarita for Aiwen and the boys each have a Classic Margarita. Saturday We ordered some pizza delivery and stayed home to watch some movies, which I can't remember right now. Then, it was David's 30th birthday dinner party at TSB, Bangsar! My boy is all grown up now! Weng bought the birthday boy the Spanking Board which consisted of - Wasabi, Banana, Cili Padi, Butterscotch and Bloody Mary shots. The whole mixture was so bad on his tummy, he had to immediately go to the loo to puke it out but nothing came out. Every party should have a hustler and at our party, we had Raymond. He was doing his duty so well, it was seriously funny watching him coercing David to drink but my boy's a good bargainer and drinker. He managed to maintain soberness throughout the night, and could even drive us both back home safely Sunday No hangover for the boy. I made lunch and we sat down to eat while watching Cleaner starring Morgan Freeman and Eva Mendes. He didn't want to go out for the whole of Sunday, while as usual I was itching my ass off to go kai kai! CK called to confirm the initial Ironman movie plan and brunch but we had to turn it down because David wasn't feeling up to it. Cleaned up the house a bit and by dinnertime, I managed to get him to go out. Called Gary + Aiwen for steamboat plans but Gary asked to go to Purple Cane at The Gardens. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Purple Cane! Not the one in One Utama as it only sells teas there. The one at The Gardens serves wonderful dishes cooked in various types of chinese teas. The next time you are there you HAVE TO ORDER these:
Soups were served in pots and each of us have a tea cup and the idea was to drink the soup in a single shot. We ordered the Ginseng Chicken soup and Lotus Root soup. Nice. Also on the table were, Fish Slice with Mashed Ginger, a pot of stuff which I can't remember the name, Eggs + Tomatoes + Prawns and some dessert later. This place is highly recommended for those running out of ideas on where to have dinner/lunch. I just wish Purple Cane does the similar concept at One Utama. I am dragging David to Purple Cane again sometime this week! Or better still, I'll bring my family there for the weekend for Mother's Day Last night was a chaotic night. After discussions of going to Bangkok in October '08 during the Hari Raya period, SMSes came one after another bearing full names and I.C. numbers. I opened up Notepad to jot down their Cina full names and numbers and saved it up as bangkokkkkkkkkkkkk.txt. Hahhahaha! Initially we only had 3 couples but it went on with EVERYONE confirming their 'participation' and we had in total of 7 couples. Saw Chew Soon online and told him about it and I swear, everyone was just in a holiday mood last night coz, HE ASKED WHETHER HE AND ANGELINE COULD COME ALONG TOO! Making it a grand total of 8 couples! We have to rent 2 vans, said David. I love group holidays! Can't wait. Then, it was back to work again. La-di-da.

So it was a nice movie marathon with Sue during the weekend. She stayed over and we only managed 5 movies.
Sunday
I have been meaning to write this. I joined PayPerPost sometime in the middle of last year and it has been a great program which I still follow to this very day. When you love to write and own a blog, isn't it just fantastic that you can get to do all these and at the same time, GET PAID as well? The idea is pretty simple actually. If you have a blog, and you update frequently, join the PayPerPost program and get paid by writing sponsored posts. You can choose what you want to write about so that the content fits in nicely with the theme of your blog. And in just about a couple of days (sometimes as soon as you submit the post) your posts get approved, and you will get paid! Plus, you get to learn new things and discover new websites that you never knew before. This is because, to write a sponsored post, you need to get to the given website link, do a little research on it and basically, just write or promote the website. Thus, making payperpost a really great opportunity. Besides, I love online shopping and what other great way than making extra cash via PayPerPost! Start earning your side income today.
Friday
