Monday
me, me and more me

We were at Julia's wedding dinner in KL Hilton last night. Someone commented that I've been lazy with my blogging, as in I don't update as much as I normally do in the past. Have I? Oh well, I guess I have been a tad lazy, so if you're still interested to read more about my very boring updates, please read on...  Big Smile

On Saturday morning, I was poked and prodded by this very annoying human boy at an ungodly hour of 8.50am with quick pecks on both of my cheeks and melodic soft whispers of, "Wake up, wake up". I opened my eyes, squinting, to find the love of my life, starring cheekily back at me with a huge smile plastered across his face. His facial expressions told me that he was mighty proud with the fact that he got me woken up at 8.50am knowing very well that I DO NOT wake up before 10.30am on Saturdays, unless I absolutely have to. Thinking it could be way past 11am, still, I had to ask him. "What time?" That smile on his face curved much higher as if he's been expecting me to pop that question, just so that he could indulge in his sick thrill of replying back with a *chirpy* .... "8.50am!" I GLARED AT HIM. He ignored The Glare and continuing with that annoying *chirpy* voice of his, he went, "I woke up at 8am!" His eyes round, staring straight into mine, blinking and blinking. And more blinkings. If he was trying to get my blood pressure to shoot up at that moment, he was really doing a fantastic job at it.

So, the point of that rambling was to let you know that I got woken up at 8.50am on that Saturday morning. And not so pleased about it. BUT, much to my delight, we went for a banana leaf brunch at Paandi's, TTDI with the gang later on. Needless to say, we were the first to arrive. I ordered my usual Mango Lassi but was told they ran out of it. So, I gave Plain Lassi a try and gawd I love it! Even much better than the mango version, I reckon! I'll be ordering that now onwards Wink

There were 7 of us and after stuffing ourselves with ayam goreng, tenggiri goreng, PERIA GORENG, dhal (lots of it!), miscellaneous vegetables and loads of rice, the bf and I made a move as we needed to move on to the next agenda - Shopping.

Arrived at KLCC to find that there were so many empty parking spots, which was rather odd for a Saturday afternoon. After the elections and people just don't shop as much now? Possible. Anyways, made my way to Isetan while the bf went elsewhere to check on something. Bought a dark grey work skirt with a measly 10% discount. I didn't care coz it's not everyday you chance upon a slim-fitting dark grey skirt with the best cut and perfect length Wink With so many wedding invitations in tow, a girl can never have too many dresses Tongue Especially when in each wedding, you have the same group of friends attending and it just ain't right to be wearing / recycling the same dresses all over again, right? Right???!!

Right. So, I found a Melinda Looi dress which the cutting was so fantastic I bought it in a size S. Fitted me like a glove! And best of all, it was on 50% discount. What a steal! Extremely pleased. Even the bf said it was nice. Usually when he replies, "Don't know" it most probably means - it's ugly. So, this time, he actually said, "Nice." With a smile thrown in. So, either he was in a weirdly fantastic mood - just saying it to shut me up OR he could be sincere. I guess I will never know  Big Smile

We then went over to the make-up counters. I have been eyeing this for quite some time. The latest eye concealer by Lancome - Effacernes Longue Tenue.

Photobucket

I have dark eye circles, not too extreme but dark eye circles are like every woman's nightmare. I am currently using Clinique's All About Eyes but I find it a little too dry for my undereyes. For example, when I smile, I can see a few fine lines underneath my eyes, so with Clinique's dryness, it actually accentuates them even more. So I decided to switch and waited for this to hit KL.

Retailing at RM115 for 15ml, this tube promises (as written in Lancome's site):

EFFACERNES blurs fine lines and reduces shadows around the eyes instantly for smooth, even results that truly last. Its soft, fine texture uses a light-diffusing technology to soften facial lines and brighten dull, tired-looking skin. Enriched with cornflower and camomile, it gives your skin an instant feeling of well-being.

I'm using it for the first time today and yes, it works for me. I have my little vain 18cm X 18cm mirror with me all the time on my work desk and I use it to occasionally check on my undereyes and truly, Effacernes is truly smooth on the skin and hydrating. No dryness at all! Effacernes comes in 4 shades and I am currently using Beige Rose. This little tube comes in 15ml and retails at RM115. If you're planning to get one and find it hard to pronounce its name, just do what I did, ask for the latest eye concealer from any Lancome counters. Wink Remember to swipe some loose powder beneath the eyes after the concealer to avoid creases.

Had to blog about that coz I'm one happy girl when something I splurged on works for me. Hate those moments when I splurged on mascaras one after another only to find that they don't work so well for me. Currently at Hypnose, Lancome much recommended by Miss PF. So far so good. Still, would like to try Flextencils, Lancome next for the extra lengthening formula.

Sunday, was the wedding at KL Hilton, and it was good seeing familiar faces there again. There are some pictures but I've not extracted them out from the camera yet. Will post up when done.

Ok, just realised I have typed so much crap. But thanks for reading anyhow. Can't wait for some gym classes later! I need to sweat! Usually I workout 3 times a week namely - Mon, Tues/Wed and Thurs. So, from Fri - Sun, there are zero sports for me and that makes me feel gemuk. So, looking forward to Bodypump at 6pm and RPM at 7.30pm later! I only do these much sports on Mondays coz the bf plays futsal and is only done at 9pm. So, I'm no gym-holic ok! Tongue

Please don't rain. I have clothes hung out to dry at home. Best time to rain today - 11pm please. Coz it's nice to sleep in to the sounds of rain going pitter-patter pitter-patter on the window panes. Hee! Tongue

An answer to the after-birth dilemma

Plastic surgery can do wonders. Not just for beauty enhancement, some women have now turned to vaginal enhancement too, especially after childbirth. It is true that some women may have received subtle complaints from their husbands about feeling less pleasurable during sexual intercourse after a recent birth of their child. The above is only one of the many reasons why some women choose to undergo a cosmetic vaginal surgery.

Another aspect that could help influence their decision is beauty. Some women are unpleased with the color, size, and form of their genitals. They opt for plastic surgery in order to have better confidence of themselves or perhaps to please their partners too. There is more information about the procedure at the LvrAtlanta.com website. The website showcases the medical practice of specialists in Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery.

Monday
the weekend that was

what a whirlwind weekend it has been. on Saturday, bf and i went to The Gardens to check out the Signature cinema for the very first time for 10,000 BC. Signature, charges RM20/person, an extra RM10 than the usual rate in GSC and TGV and the seats are all couple seats, meaning more leg space, walking space, etc. but it was just ok for us. nothing much to shout about and would not even bother with Signature for future movies.

well, i think 10,000 BC could've been better. i couldn't help but compare it to the award-winning Apocalypto as it beared some similarities in many areas but Apocalypto wins hands down for me. Evolet was gorgeous though :)

before the movie, we had lunch at Fong Lye Restaurant, a place serving Taiwanese cuisine.

i thoroughly enjoyed my Fried Fish Fillet with Tomato and Fried Egg!
for RM19.80, you get all these :)

there were soooooo many fish fillets in that pot that i even passed some to the bf. he had a different set with beef with capsicums in 3 traffic light colors :) nice too! no pics. the above pics were stolen from some other blogger's blog. i can't be bothered to take pics of food in restaurants ok Tongue would i go back for more? you bet i will Wink

after the movie, we went walking around. the bf bought a very nice shirt and i got myself a nice new rm599 Balenciaga bag. mr tay's purchase entitled us to redeem a pearl from one of the counters there. i was totally amazed at how they extracted the pearl! it was done live infront of us - the guy chose an oyster from the pile, opened it up with a sharp knife, dug a bit and voila! a nice round shiny pearl popped out! he then, washed it with water and wiped it dry with a soft cloth and ta-da, the pearl was then given to me. ahhh... so beautiful. i love pearls :) now, i have to think whether i'd wanna turn my pearl into a necklace pendant or a ring.

couldn't find a dress and we had to rush off for dinner at my parents' so mr tay promised we'd go KLCC next Saturday for more dress-hunting. ahhh... the bugger has been very sweet these days, accommodating to all my shopping needs. BUT i am not abusing it ok. i would somehow need to justify to him why i should need that new dress or new bag, which i think is fair enough :)

after dinner, we came home and stay glued to malaysiakini.com for live updates on the elections. at the same time, tv3 was blasting around the house with biased morons giving their views and extremely delayed results being displayed. see, they only published winnings by BN at the beginning when clearly, the oppositions have won some early seats. we kept refreshing malaysiakini and practically every 3-10mins there was an update and we were happy that the news were mostly good news :) first to go was Penang and i could imagine the joy felt by the 60,000 Penangites who campaigned and huddled around the ceramahs given by Jeff Ooi from over the past couple of days. then, Dr M's prediction was right, Kedah went as well. what surprised me most was, after coming out of shower, mr tay looked at me and said, "Selangor too." i replied, "don't bluff. don't pull my leg ok." he promptly shoved the laptop over to me and true enough, flashing back at me was malaysiakini's report on the latest conquer. i very much look forward to a new Selangor :) as i am typing now, they are discussing ways to reduce the toll rates, for example the LDP highway.
http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/3/10/central/20594745&sec=central

Perak sealed in the final victory, which i only discovered the morning after. we only managed to stay up till 2+am. thanks to Vig and Sue, with constant updates that night. we were on MSN and whoever got the latest refreshed news from malaysiakini, it would be promptly sent over on MSN. ahhh, so patriotic :) there was a moment of panic though. remember the very last minute 14 uncounted ballots for Lembah Pantai? Sue was like, "awww... come on. not again." apparently, in the previous election, Shahrizat's votes were lacking and was on verge of losing. suddenly there was power failure and when everything went back up again, she SUDDENLY had an extra 5,000 votes. wtf.

this election has been so different for most of us. mostly to those who cared. we grew up in school thinking the Oppositions are bad people and how BN is the only way to go. it's time for a change people. the United States have their Democrats and Republicans taking turns to rule the country (depending who wins) but we've been under the SAME government for the past 50 years. inflation is rising, racial segregation issues are rising as well and don't get me started on the crime rates. every other day, i hear someone's bag getting snatched. the latest being, Pinkpau's at http://quaintly.net/2008/03/09/all-these-unexpected-things/. so, a change is healthy for all of us. i am so glad that the moron Zam was kicked out as well. he was our Information Minister who was interviewed by Al-Jazeera in regards to the BERSIH rally. again, let's all watch how 'intelligent' he was at answering the reporter's questions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1_GQ-K7P_w

Excerpts from http://malaysiakini.com/letters/79351:

Dr Chris Anthony writes:

History has shown that any government if given absolute power for too long tends to becomes arrogant and corrupt. It tends to breed nepotism, cronyism, favoritism and finally it loses touch with the masses. Its leaders become surrounded by powerful 'yes men' who would glorify the leader for whatever he does, even if it is wrong and disastrous.

A system that has been in power for too long needs a jolt of their conscience to bring them back to reality and that the people at the grassroots are not pleased with their performance. It needs a better check and balance system in the form of a strong and effective opposition in parliament.

This election is not so much about peace, prosperity and security which we all already enjoy, thanks to the BN government. It is also not so much about business and physical development which we have in abundance, thanks again to the BN government. Rather the 12th general election it is more so about electing a government:

1.With a better check and balance so that it will use its powers wisely and solely for the benefit of the people, a government that respects and committed to human rights and empathises with the well-being of the all marginalized citizens regardless of race and religion.

2. That will not bulldoze its policies against the wishes of the people without prior proper and adequate consultation and debate.

3. That will treat parliament as the rightful place to make policies

4. That will respect the independence of the civil service, judiciary and police.

5. That will be transparent and accountable to the people in all its dealings that expends huge amount of the taxpayer's money.

6. Will respect the sanctity of the Federal Constitution and abide by the provisions therein

This election is primarily about stopping the BN government of 50 years from abusing the absolute power it had been entrusted all these years. From a humble beginning it has become an aggressive giant ready to crush anyone whore dares to cross its path.

anyways...

on Sunday morning, we went to Ikano for breakfast at Uncle Lim's. and then to IKEA to buy black frames. we are working on a small little personal project that involves our photos and the black frames. will post up pics once they are done Wink

it was Allyson and Yong Siong's wedding at Sunway Resort Hotel later in the evening. the whole gang was there with couples who are going to Yvonne's wedding in Langkawi, discussing on accommodation and car rental sharing. we've managed to rent a MPV to fit 3 couples! wahahaha!

and now, just like you, i'm back at work. i have to call up my facial center to reschedule my appointment. initially scheduled for 12pm on 15 Mac (Sat), but the gang wants to go for a banana leaf brunch. just how can i say no to banana leaf? and peria goreng?

Recycled plastic material

Back at home, we usually collect empty bottles of Coke, Sprite, etc and dump them in the recycling bins. I think that is one of the best environmental care practices  that everyone should adopt.

Do you ever wonder about what happens to the plastic items you recycle? High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a plastic that is commonly used in many every day products that can be recycled. HDPE Scrap is the material that is collected after the plastic has been collected and then sold so that it can be recycled. The bulk of scrap HDPE bought and sold comes in the form of HDPE Pellets.

Thankfully there are companies these days that make it easier for consumers to recycle plastic materials and help in conserving Mother earth by buying and selling recyclable materials.

We dream

Miss PF's dream:

Perfectly Flawed says:
got a mission for you: go search for my dream interpretation - dreamt i got married, not happy with the wedding arrangements, at first happy with dress later hate it, location was beautiful by the beach got clubhouse. my dress had flowers long sleeves, simple - grew to hate it. could not see the groom's face. it was windy. remember walking down the wooden staircase of the clubhouse.

My dream:

Me and 2 girlfriends (can't recall who!) were on the run. we were like fugitives. policemen were chasing us, banging from house to house searching for us. we had to carry many bags (our stuff) and we were anxiously waiting for a bus to disappear. we arrived at a different country. many years went by, we survived and beat the law.

such an exhausting dream!

anyone care to interpret our dreams???

Monday
nerve wrecking

today i took the cab home after work. usually to get a cab, i would need to walk to One Utama, right up to one of the entrances at the New Wing. the Armani entrance to be exact.

so as usual, i'd need to line up and wait for awhile. when it was almost my turn, this lady infront of me told the cab driver that she wanted to go to Kota Damansara. he said no. and then turned to ask me of my destination. i softly said, Damansara Perdana, thinking that since he wouldn't even want to go Kota Damansara, he'd most probably say no to DP.

but he said ok. so i happily hopped on and thanked my lucky stars.

ok, i'll get straight to the point. the cab driver speaks good English, probably around 32 - 36 and he is WEIRD. he kept stealing glances at me from his mirror because i could see from the corner of my eyes. i ignored it.

no, i did not ignore it. being the drama queen i am, i have already in my mind, formed and planned an Escape Route for myself.

  1. Door unlocked. Checked.
  2. Hands clutching tightly to bag and laptop. Checked.
  3. Amount of courage needed to yank the door open and jump out of the car. Checked.

and so i waited. it was just a short distance, i need not worry much, i assured myself.

AND THEN I SPOTTED SOMETHING Shocked

you know how when you wear pants, it should reach slightly below your waist? i swear, his pants was sooooooo low. the top of his pants was buckled (or not buckled, i don't know!) like somewhere around his crotch maybe??? i KNOW because i could SEE the whole 2 - 3 inches chunk of his side thigh flesh flashing back at me!

eww!

at this point i was already thinking, shit. he might wanna flash his dick at me. fark, what do i do, what do i do.

and then, it just got better. he turned a bit to the right to grab something that fell on the floor of the car. god knows what it was, i don't give a damn. BUT I DO GIVE A DAMN TO WHAT I SAW STARING BRIGHTLY BACK AT ME!!!

HE, A MID-30s MAN WAS WEARING A LEOPARD PRINTED UNDERWEAR WITH PINK LACE TRIMMINGS AROUND IT!!!

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! MY EYES!!!

and it wasn't the manly kinda leopard printed underwear ok. the material was just like my La Senza panty! soft, with the chiffon-ny see through type.

OMG. he is a pervert!!! i swear, no sane and straight guys i know would wear an underwear LIKE THAT! with pink lace trimmings around it! arrghhh, the image is very disturbing!

cross-dresser perhaps? outwardly, he looked like any normal man. i just know he is sick and probably aftering innocent girls. BECAUSE...

right before i got down, he asked me whether i always take a cab there to go back to DP. i said sometimes. he then told me that i could contact him whenever i need a cab because, "heehee, driving taxi is only part time for me. around evening, i'm usually around One Utama area, so if you need a cab, you can call me."

ohhh kayyyy... like i will ever call you!!! pervert who kept stealing glances at me! but of course i say nothing of that. i replied, yeah sure. and he proceeded to write his contact number down on a paper. "i'm Lim. and you are?"

"Samantha."

i got off the cab and usually, actually all the time, 2 seconds after you get off any cab, they'd normally speed off. but not Lim. he stayed on and i took a swift glance to check whether he was observing me, and gawd he was! even waved me goodbye. WTF!!!!!!!!

the amount of drama a girl needs to go through just to get home via public transportation. i think i just aged 5 years!
