If you noticed, nowadays when you drive through a toll, there is a signboard next to the cashier saying:
(not in exact wordsla, but the gist of it is here)
Jika saya tidak:
1. Memberi salam
2. Senyum
3. Mengucapkan terima kasih
Sila ingatkan saya, etc etc.
After reading that signboard, while waiting for the cashier to give me my change, I stared at her. Tried my best to look for a tiny hint of smile or friendliness - elek (tamil word).
So ok, perhaps Ms Grouchy Poo had a bad day, afterall it was already late evening. So this morning, I tried again! Fresh new day, birds are singing, the sun is brightly shining, so cashiers at tolls must be in jolly good mood right?
I purposely gave a RM5 note at the Penchala Link toll booth so that it would take some time for her to get the change and count. Again, I read the signboard because it was just there and big.
Again, no smile, no "terima kasih" but got the "here's-your-change-now-get-the-hell-away-and-scram" look. Wtfffff....!
Actually this doesn't piss me off that much, because you need not talk to them. It is just pure money transaction thingy, you pass the $$$ and she hits the button, the poll goes up and you're off. Small talks really isn't necessary.
But what pisses me off are those salesgirls in fashion boutiques. The way they answer you are just like how Ling puts it, "Gie, you killed her mother ah? Why the face like sucking on lemon?" I swear they do! I mean come on, you're in the service line. Yes, I understand you've been standing the whole day and yes, you may have come across nasty and annoying customers BUT you do not take it out on OTHER nice customers LIKE ME.
Just puts me off real bad. Reaaaaallll bad to the extent I will boycott that particular shop just because they have stupid incompetent staff. Remembered once when I was out with Ling for shopping, that woman really gives it straight to your face. That salesgirl honestly was bad. Bad and rude. So after Ling made her purchase, she went, "Don't like to work here is it? Then don't work lah! Why show f*cked up attitude to customers? If you don't like working here, I can help you tell your boss!"
Wickkkeeeddd. But cool. Just for the record, I'm not in a foul mood or whatsoever. Still happy happy happy from yesterday. From the weekend actually *chuckles*
