Crabbie cracked me up big time on MSN earlier on. i laughed and laughed till i cry, then gave him a call and continued laughing like a mad woman. received stares from fellow colleagues around.
therefore, in that happy state of mind, i've decided to delete all the hiroshima + nagasaki portion of what had happened earlier. don't wanna pollute my 2008 blog with negative chi
so, it continues below...
***
admittedly i got pretty mad. in a fit of anger, i banged on the poor keyboard numerous of times before remembering mr tay's advice to take 2 deep breaths (whenever i am about to do or say things i might regret later), which ended up with FIVE deep inhalations, took my wallet + hp, stepped out and met up with Chu Siang for lunch.
Pasta Zanmai. a relatively new restaurant at One Utama with a fusion twist between japanese and italian. i liked it. took me awhile to decide what to order because there were just too many choices. and for dessert, i had a green tea tiramisu, while Chu had a strawberry crepe. they even have green tea latte and green tea pudding, which i want to try next. i am digging green tea stuff lately, not quite sure why. lunch was on Chu, hehe.
and then, some guy messaged me on facebook complimenting my krabi pics. mentioned that he'll be going to krabi in march and he works in 8tv and he noticed that i worked just next door. asked me out for lunch / coffee to... 'tell me more about krabi and your trip'. signed off with his name and contact number. so weird right.
p/s: oh! oh! Chu said his gf Madeleine is also fed up with her boss and wants to open her own boutique! told him, me and her can collabo together-gether! wahaha!
p/p/s: at pasta zanmai, there was this lady sitting at next table to us. she's very powerful ya, she decides what shops get to be placed at One Utama and also she is in charge of all the Bandar Utama properties, so if there is any upcoming projects/houses, she is first to know Chu knows, coz he works in the same office as her!
we were both so worn out and tired from the past 2 days of activities that i actually had secretly hoped the guide would somehow forgot to come pick us up, and then we can complain and demand for refund. hahahahhaha.... very nasty, me.
but of course that didn't happen. the pick-up van came as sharp as 8.30am. day 4's itinerary looked pretty simple and less tiring:
- Hot Spring - Emerald Pool - Elephant Trekking
see! day 4's activities were just about splashing water around and be taken around like a queen on A Huge Mammal.
in the pick-up van on the way to the first destination
: Hot Spring :
40-42 degree celcius! don't play play! but apparently good for health
easy does it...
i had to dip myself in carefully, little by little, as there were lots of rocks around plus, the water was pretty hot!
the trick was to actually, just soak in and within 30 secs your body sort of acclimatize to the surrounding temperature.
roasting ourselves silly
human BBQ roasting pit
: Emerald Pool :
jungle trekking at the National Park begins here
be prepared for a looonggggg walk
omg, it was a looooongggggg walk before reaching this.
see the emerald green pool, not the boy. why garang face, baby?
all smiley again
but of course, i had to sibuk and get into the picture
this is where the actual EMERALD POOL is
it is naturally emerald green and not man-made k
so the guide dumped us all here to have a swim for like 40 min
: Elephant Trekking!!! :
*squels*
they were all quite busuk actually, same as phuket elephants, haha
ok. all elephants are smelly.
getting on Wat-na the Elephant must always know the name of your elephant
and sex. Wat-na's a betina
from this view, we could actually see the front elephants do the following:
- shit (HUMONGOUS shit!) - pee (2 huge buckets!) - trample down all the smaller trees - tear down banana trees (they LOVE banana trees! especially the soft young shoots inside)
boy eh you think their feet hurt when they step on the stones? girl how do i know la! you go ask them boy those guys should make shoes for them
the boy said it. not me k.
the boy said to look up but it was super glaring
helloooo
the Maharaja & Queen
after the ride, we got to buy bananas to feed them! at only 40 baht per basket, we bought 2 baskets - 1 for mr tay and 1 for myself *happy*!
mr tay feeding greedy Wat-na, who kept wanting more and more
i fed her too and got her saliva wetting all over my fingers it felt very geli actually
good girl, Wat-na can you see her smiling? i swear she was smiling when i touched her
she's still smiling!
not so smiley. so Wat-na preferred me! wahahhaha!
girl i think i wanna rear an elephant la boy everything also you want to rear. the last time we watched The March of the Penguins, you said you wanna rear a penguin. then, you saw this documentary on pandas and sure enough, you wanted to rear a panda. what else? also, forever want to rear dogs. somemore? piglet. i remember you said you wanted to rear a piglet. go build a zoo la. girl shaddup. you forgot dolphins.
: Dinner :
Angie's Spastic Moments #282
and then... it came.
*speechless* taking a moment before squelling in delight!
ordered yummy clams too!
mr tay's beef stroganoff and pasta
: day 5 :
just finished packing and about to check-out from hotel
we should be leaving to the airport soon, but "i still wanna shop!"
sure, no problem, says The Hand
i can't resist colorful thingies
at the airport checking in our luggage bags actually luggage bag. just 1. i was pretty good girl this time, packed really light
- the end -
Rating for this holiday: 9/10 - minused 1 point, coz we argued upon arrival and on day 4.
on day 3, we signed up for another package that toured around 5 islands including the very famous Hong Island.
same routine: wake up at ungodly hour (on a holiday) to have breakfast, scrambled around and got ready by 8.30am.
i don't function well early in the mornings
but for the camera, I CAN
and again...
we were actually waiting infront of the tour agency for our pickup to arrive to pick us up to the jetty
in the pickup van, mr tay trying to look matrix-cool
gorgeous old fishing ships at the jetty
looking very much like toys
in the boat heading towards our first island - Hong Island!
it was a long, bumpy and wet ride with water splashing at my laura-merciered face and mr tay's dr murad-spf20-sunscreened face
We Have Arrived!
this can only be done by the female
who else but, the male's work of art
i helped too.
i helped to collect sticks to be broken into smaller pieces to form words
KAYAKING TIME!
oooh, i underestimated the area and distance needed to be covered. i was so wrong! the journey started off really calm and easy but by the15th min, our arms were aching like crazy and at some point, the seas were getting really choppy that i really thought we would overturned!
amidst all chaos of a Drama Queen on board,"we're going to overturn and sharks will eat us and we'll all die!!!", mr tay tried his very best to stay calm and kept reminding me to, "stay near to the rocks. steer the boat towards to rocks."
a serene ride before the drama
even, mr tay managed to camwhore
ooo, i love going through holes like this
Angie's Spastic Moments #281
battle wounds and oh-so-proud of it
CAN'T YOU TELL ALREADY THAT I LOVE THIS SHIRT!
it's almost like the stuff i drew at facebook's graffiti, hehe!
purchased for only RM29 at purpledotz, bangsar
*loved*
: Episode Starfish :
slimy! ewwwwww
"stop hogging the starfish! let me have a go!" says him
"i wanna have a bite!"
bite, and you're never ever kissing me. ever.
[before]
[after]
Best Friends
- end of episode -
this is him, trying to act cool again la
and this is me trying to act 'lovely'
... more like, "the camera's this direction, stupid!" this was from day 3 actually just love the black & white effect on it
in 'lovely' mode again
fail.
guess which is mr tay? (hint: the one with the bigger butt)
: Episode Lala Girl and Lala Boy on Swing :
- lalagirl and lalaboy on self-timer and mini tripod -
- end of episode -
: Episode Tarzan & Jane :
off to another island!
lalagirl on BIGGER swing
what lalagirl does, lalaboy copies
in some jungle with a Miraculous Toilet Facility area, waiting for truck to pick us up back to Ao nang
back at Ao nang with, again, the infamous Energy Booster
banana + honey (my fav) and banana + chocolate
and the below are taken at Black Canyon Coffee cafe, after some cheap pad thai (30baht) + cold chang beer for dinner (tepi jalan stall)
an extremely tiring but fun day! on day 4, we deal with Elephants and Some Very Hot Water.
Episode Mr Tay Jumping Off a Cliff Despite The Gf's Disapproval
do you hate waking up early during holidays? well i do! but that's exactly what you've gotta do when you have scheduled ahead a full day's worth of activities.
there are various packages available for you to take up at Krabi. trust me, you NEED to take up some, else it's just gonna be yet another shopping trip like Phuket. so, on Day 1 upon arrival, we signed up for package: Full Day 4 Island Tour by Longtail Boat.
which covers:
- Poda Island - Tub Island - Chicken Island - Phra Nang Beach - lunch, fruit (pineapples and watermelon), water, snorkeling gear, etc
so, on Day 2 we dragged our asses up early for breakfast and got ourselves ready for the guide to come pick us up at 8.30am.
my very friendly webbed friend
the bag that mr tay hangs around him is super useful for beach! bought it at bali and have also lent it to mom for her langkawi trip 2 months back.
mine! all mine!!!
hello baby, what are you doing?
ohhh... my slave hard at work doing my mandatory names on beach sand thingy
this is Chicken Island there were no landing spots there, so we just circled around it looks like a chicken head, no? hehe
chicken & us
he was looking for nihon-jins again!
what to eat when you've used up so much energy for snorkeling and running around the beach?
Thai Pancakes of course!
chunky peanut butter and banana + honey (this is the best i tell you!)
bought a cowgirl hat
colorful M I N I M A R T
we asked the locals for a good place for dinner and were directed to Sala Bua
... and that was day 2. tiring!
we took another package for day 3 and it was hell a lot more tiring as it involved kayaking. but fun!!!
last night i woke up in the middle of the night crying. as in, crying really hard with tears rolling down my cheeks, wetting the pillow.
i dreamt that mr tay 'died'
everything was so vivid and felt so real! mr tay kept asking me how did he die, i told him i don't know. i just remember that he died in my dream and i was in possession of his car and his Oakley sunglasses. and each time i look at them, i cry incessantly. i kept thinking, 'gosh, i would never ever get to talk to david anymore!' and this absolutely scared the bejezzus out of me.
also, in that dream i kept searching for familiar faces who are friends of mr tay but NONE of the people i see in the dream are friends of mr tay, thus making it even harder for me to share my sorrows. my heart was actually pounding when i woke up.
startled and got jolted up last night, i hugged mr tay with my big drops of tears wetting his back and it woke him up. i told him about my dream in between sobs and he laughed! and mumbled something about me being a, 'silly girl, silly girl'
we reached Ao Nang, Krabi at about 2+pm, checked into the hotel, unpacked and off we went searching for food. it was like adjusting my tastebuds back to the similar kinda food which we had back at phuket a couple of months ago ---> lots of pad thais, cheap thai pancakes & beer. i likey
krabi has many different towns. but through thorough research done by yours truly (ahem), Ao Nang is definitely the best place to stay, party and shop. do not even bother staying at Krabi Town, coz it's just right smack in the middle of the city with absolutely not a single beach in sight. the other towns are like Koh Railay (don't bother too, coz it's just a very quiet island unless you wanna do rock climbing), Koh Lanta (need a boat ride to get there, boring as well), Koh Phi Phi (highly recommended coz we been there the last time, lovely lovely place!), and etc.
the streets of ao nang, krabi
waiting for my pad thai in bali - it's bintang in thailand - it's chang
i was hungry la ok
our must-have fix. thai pancakes. i remembered we walloped quite a number of these the last time at phuket/phiphi.
mr tay coming with two pancakes
banana + chocolate and mango + honey
yummy!
: i love taking pics of colorful stuff :
ok, this dog caught my attention it was laying outside a manipedi salon and it has its nails all pedicured!
they even did up his eyebrows!
animal cruelty
it was raining all of a sudden and the bf and i had to run under the rain and look for shelter. ended up sitting infront of a closed shop and i spotted these gorgeous colorful balloons above this pink Hello Kitty scooter!
waiting for the rain to stop. clearly, mr tay wasn't too pleased having this pic taken
dinner at the hotel
we asked the locals where are the good clubs and were directed to Luna Bar
our door drink
ok, i am putting up 3 videos which we took. this was the closest view and the most spectacular view we had ever gotten, watching fireworks get blasted just a couple of metres from us. the fireworks were all set on the beach and by 11++, they were blasting fireworks non stop!
everything was on freestyle mode, with no one creating stupid barricades and asking you to stand behind the line that kinda bullshit. if you get hit by the fireworks, you get hit by them. i love freestyle
i love the 2nd blast! a gorgeous blue-ish eruption of sparklers. there were a total of more than 8 blasts, i think. all blasted directly above us :)
at the middle part towards the end of the video, you can see how crazy everyone went with their free handheld sparklers!
this is nice :) lanterns of hope and wishes released into the skies towards the later part of the nite, the skies were filled with hundreds of these lanterns! simply gorgeous
firedancers!
my pics on the first day of my every trip are usually boring pics for day 2 - 5 coming up!
this was taken on day 4. by then, my nose was already red and shiny from too much sun. mr tay has been calling me Rudolph on day 2 and by day 3 i was known as Shiny.
he'd go, "Hi Shiny! pass me the remote. Hi Shiny! good night!"
we're leaving to krabi tomorrow. it's 9.56pm now and i have not packed yet! so anyways, Crabbie wrote about me being a Nice But Gross Girl, here. got gambar also. thanks for trying to cheer me up and i still want more 'suet yu' in the future :) Crabbie aka Chew Soon, i just saw your biography written on your company's website! very impressive! i'm so proud to have befriended you since 1998! hahaha! his impressive bio can be read here.
wishing all an advance Happy 2008! and i know for a fact that it's gonna be a smashing good year. trust me, i know.
BECAUSE I AM GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
*Happy Holidays to each and everyone of you and Merry Christmas!*
the first posting was his, of course. got music somemore. i don't think i'll be using this new site anytime soon. the overall design obviously needs to be revamped.
anyways, christmas eve dinner at Marriot, Putrajaya.
our camera is crappy for night shots, but he wanted to try it out anyway. experimental konon.
it was a lovely morning and dinner wedding reception for Siu & Tina. mr tay took quite a number of pics although he wasn't the designated wedding photographer
here are just some of it:
we had about 3 tolls (chi-mui angpau collection la). first was the front gate, second was at the dining area and lastly, the bride's bedroom. Isabelle The Flowergirl was a hardcore "toll collecter". she just wouldn't let the guys in! so ok, we just let her do the talking, hahaha! she has GREAT potential to be a future chi-mui.
"nooooo, no angpau also? no angpau no come in!" cried Isabelle when no angpaus appear below the door.
"noooo, cannot hear, sing louder!" Isabelle exclaimed when Siu did not sing loud enough.
Siu & Tina
i love this shot!
Tina loved it as well and plans to frame it up. all courtesy of mr tay. told you he takes wonderful shots.
OMG, this is one of the cutest babies i've seen this year. hahahaha his shirt says, "Will Work For Milk" at the back says, "Milk Milk Please"
Little Isaac, Siu's nephew is a great ball of energy! he runs around non-stop and is a super-friendly baby boy :)
Isaac giving Tina a kiss... awwwww
received an angpau from Tina, and guess what he did next? he pointed towards Siu's stack of angpaus. smart boy!
haha, this is a deceptive pic. mr tay looked as if he was looking into Tina's cleavage but actually he wasn't la. they were discussing something while i waited for this opportunity and SNAPPED away!
mr tay's idea. not mine
: night reception at Holiday Inn, Shah Alam :
oh this was really nice! Siu composed a song called "Me and Tina Wee"
it's all about meeeee me and tina weeeee
hahaha so cute! it rhymes and the song was really sweet
Siu also sang one of my all time favorite songs, "Till There Was You" by The Beatles.
this is my favorite version by Paul McCartney during The Space Between Us concert (the one i watched with daddy at home)
