Year 2000, I remembered coming home from college and dad ushered me in and told me to keep the noise down because, "Papa is doing something really important. Don't disturb ah."
There was another person sitting in our living hall, accompanied by her huge bag and with a pen and a notepad, she looked every bit of a journalist.
The table arrangement in living hall has been altered. Suddenly there was our dining table being brought into the living hall and on top of the table there were tons of daddy's Beatles collection.
My dad is like the BIGGEST HUGEST HUMONGEOUSEST fan of The Beatles. He has been a fan since his primary school days. Among his prized possessions are 2 thick cover notebooks filled with very very nicely handwritten lyrics of every song from The Beatles. In between these pages, he had also sketched some really nice drawings of Paul, John, Ringo and George. My dad also draws REALLY REALLY WELL. He also did some amazing individual portrait sketches of every member of The Beatles and those sketches were dated back in the 70s, so you could imagine how old and precious these work of art are.
Among his collection, there were also rare unreleased tape recordings which he managed to get off a friend who is currently residing in the US. I've listened to them and honestly it wasn't really something you would want to pop into your player to listen and relax. It was more like live recordings of the whole process of album recordings with all the pauses and mistakes made in between. The band members joking around, laughing and frustrations of having to do retakes again and again - THAT is how rare those tapes are. Told dad, "If you could finally let go of these tapes one day, LET ME SELL THEM FOR YOU THRU EBAY."
These tapes are worth a lot when you are met with serious Beatles collectors.

Source: The MalayMail archive
I couldn't access the full article as you need to pay and subscribe to access the archive. But ya, Ms Chow came back and interviewed him for The MalayMail. Then the following week, Ms Indra Santhiabalan (i remembered her name ok, but unsure of the spelling) from The Star also swung by our place and did an interviewed on dad. Berita Harian and Sin Chew Jit Poh (or was it Nanyang, i need to check with dad) also did their rounds.
My dad diligently cut out every article and picture and have some of them framed up. So, if you ever come to my place, you'd see them being proudly displayed in The Room. The Room = dad's designated room to store all his Beatles collection plus movies in VCDs, DVDs, and even casettes, videotapes, and vinyl recordings! I'm so glad that my dad is a music-lover like I am and also an avid collector of DVDs and CDs. Made me realised my dad's cool, you know? Hehe. Heck, he even had a jamming studio for college students to jam which he charges them at a certain rate per hour. Studio's name - Studio Jam. Very creative, dad, haha.
Anyways, over the weekend, dad and I plopped ourselves infront of the telly and watched this...

Sir Paul McCartney performed in this concert, The Space Within US in 2005 with 2 other guitarists, a keyboardist and a very cheeky drummer.
Among the attendees - Bill Clinton, Jay-Z, Bono from U2, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, and whole lot more.
My dad has just bought this DVD recently so we sat down and watched. The audience were simply amazing! And dad looked as if, he wished he were in the concert. Haha.
me: if he ever comes to malaysia, would you go?
dad: don't think they will ever come. only left paul and ringo.
me: ya, which is sad isn't it? but nvm, if he does come, i go with you ok!
dad: *smile*
Dad mentioned in his past interviews that he was starting a Beatles fan club in Malaysia. Which he did and at that time they were a small group of them getting together at Hard Rock Cafe, KL for gatherings and such. Hah... so cute. Dad is still recruiting, so if you know any die-hard fans of The Beatles, do let me know. Dad would love to expand his little fan club
And oh, dad asked me this while watching the DVD,
dad: you think i can email him?
me: you want to email him?!?
dad: ya, why not?
me: errr, okkkk
dad: help me google his personal email add ok?
So cute!
Roll upppp... roll up for the Magical Mystery Tourrrr...
